Abstract

A 3D printed lacrosse head is provided and may include a top lacrosse head region having a plurality of head region layers, a left lacrosse head sidewall having a plurality of left lacrosse head sidewall region layers, a right lacrosse head sidewall having a plurality of right lacrosse head sidewall region layers, and a bottom lacrosse head region having a plurality of bottom lacrosse head region layers such that at least one of the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region includes at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein.

1 . A 3D printed lacrosse head comprising:
 a top lacrosse head region comprising a plurality of head region layers, wherein at least a portion of the top lacrosse head region is curved;   a left lacrosse head sidewall comprising a plurality of left lacrosse head sidewall region layers, the left lacrosse head sidewall being adjacent to the top lacrosse head region and at least a portion of the left lacrosse head sidewall being curved;   a right lacrosse head sidewall comprising a plurality of right lacrosse head sidewall region layers, the right lacrosse head sidewall being adjacent to the top lacrosse head region and at least a portion of the right lacrosse head sidewall being curved; and   a bottom lacrosse head region comprising a plurality of bottom lacrosse head region layers, the bottom lacrosse head region being adjacent to both the left lacrosse head sidewall and the right lacrosse head sidewall and at least a portion of the bottom lacrosse head region being curved,   wherein at least one of the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region comprises at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein.   
     
     
         2 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the top lacrosse head region comprises the at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         3 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the left lacrosse head sidewall region comprises the at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         4 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the right lacrosse head sidewall region comprises the at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         5 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom lacrosse head region comprises the at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         6 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein a stiffness of the region having the at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein is different from the other regions. 
     
     
         7 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the carbon fiber extends continuously through portion of the respective region that is curved. 
     
     
         8 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 7 , wherein the carbon fiber extends continuously through the respective region. 
     
     
         9 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one layer having the carbon fiber embedded therein is arranged along an interior axis of the corresponding region. 
     
     
         10 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein one of the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region comprises a plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         11 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein are adjacent in the respective region. 
     
     
         12 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein are separated by an intervening layer of the respective region. 
     
     
         13 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein are arranged to form a predetermined pattern in the respective region. 
     
     
         14 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 10 , wherein a first layer of the plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein comprises more carbon fiber than a second layer of the plurality of layers having carbon fiber embedded therein. 
     
     
         15 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region comprise at least one layer of plastic. 
     
     
         16 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region comprise at least one layer of nylon. 
     
     
         17 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the top lacrosse head region comprises more layers having carbon fiber embedded therein than the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region. 
     
     
         18 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the left lacrosse head sidewall region and the right lacrosse head sidewall region comprise more layers having carbon fiber embedded therein than the top lacrosse head region and the bottom lacrosse head region. 
     
     
         19 . The 3D printed lacrosse head of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom lacrosse head region comprises more layers having carbon fiber embedded therein than the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the top lacrosse head region. 
     
     
         20 . A method of 3D printing a lacrosse head comprising:
 3D printing a top lacrosse head region comprising a plurality of head region layers, wherein at least a portion of the top lacrosse head region is curved;   3D printing a left lacrosse head sidewall comprising a plurality of left lacrosse head sidewall region layers, the left lacrosse head sidewall being adjacent to the top lacrosse head region and at least a portion of the left lacrosse head sidewall being curved;   3D printing a right lacrosse head sidewall comprising a plurality of right lacrosse head sidewall region layers, the right lacrosse head sidewall being adjacent to the top lacrosse head region and at least a portion of the right lacrosse head sidewall being curved; and   3D printing a bottom lacrosse head region comprising a plurality of bottom lacrosse head region layers, the bottom lacrosse head region being adjacent to both the left lacrosse head sidewall and the right lacrosse head sidewall and at least a portion of the bottom lacrosse head region being curved,   wherein at least one of the top lacrosse head region, the left lacrosse head sidewall region, the right lacrosse head sidewall region, and the bottom lacrosse head region comprises at least one layer having carbon fiber embedded therein.
