Abstract

This technique includes setting of 13 round cut stones forming a flower shape cluster, by setting the all 13 stones at three different levels. In these 13 stones there are 3 different categories of sizes: bigger, medium, and smaller, the bigger size contains 1 stone, the medium size contains 6 stones and the small size contains 6 stones. In the medium and small size category, the stone size is defined by a specific ratio to size category. This technique of setting cluster has three different height levels in which big, medium and small size stones are set. This entire construction of 6 small, 6 medium and 1 big round stone to create a cluster with complete diamond look, there is no negative gap seen in between the two stone and no metal is visible from the seat. This cluster creates an illusion of one complete flower shape diamond.

1 . A method of setting 13 precious round cut stones in order to form a flower shape cluster, by setting the all 13 stones at three different levels, wherein these 13 stones are of 3 different categories of bigger size, medium size, smaller size, the bigger size containing 1 stone, the medium size containing 6 stones and the small size contains 6 stones and in the medium and small size category the stone size being defined by a specific ratio to size of bigger size category comprising the steps of
setting the big size, medium size and small size stones at three different height levels wherein the bottom most level has the small stones set on the surface of the wall and fixed with a nick groove engraved from the base metal surface to secure the stone, setting the bigger size stone at next level that is middle level, this starts little above the small size stone and at this level the bigger size stone is placed above the small size stones so that the girdles of the big size stone are touching the surface of the metal and table is raised above the top of small size stone, the stone is again secured with the nick groove engraved from the base metal surface to secure the stone, setting the medium size 6 stones at the third and top most level such as the stone are set at the top most layer of the cluster and set with one prong shared between two stones securely to form prong setting in order to provide a beautiful looking cluster with complete diamond look, where there is no negative gap seen in between the two stone and no metal is visible from the seat, thus creating an illusion of one complete flower shape diamond.

2 . A method of setting 13 precious round cut stones in order to form a flower shape cluster as claimed in claim 1 wherein one can choose the bigger size and select the medium and small size according to the ratio defined as below:
bigger size stone:medium size stone:small size stone ratio is 1:0.72:0.32.

3 . A jewellery having a flower shape cluster of precious stones wherein the mounting is made by casting or machining process of any precious metal, having a three different levels 1 , 2 , 3 , level 3 being at the lowest step and small size stones are set at this level, level 2 being at middle and biggest stone is set at this level, level 1 being at the top and medium size stones are set at his level.

4 . A jewellery having a flower shape cluster of precious stones as claimed in claim 3 wherein at first step the stone 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 of small size stone of 0.8 mm are set in at level 3 and secured with nick grooves raised from the surface of the metal, in second step stone 13 being set at level 2 that is bigger stone 13 of size 2.5 mm is secured by making grooves from the nick surface of the metal and in third step stone 17 , 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 being set at level 1 that is medium stone of size 1.8 mm and secured by shared prongs 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 , 28 between two stones.

5 . A jewellery having a flower shape cluster of stones made by the methods as claimed in claim 2 .
