Abstract

A method and system for merging heterogeneous data types are provided. The method includes receiving a first corpus of first data, the first data includes an indicator of an interaction between a first element of the first corpus of first data and a second element of the first corpus of first data, receiving a second corpus of second data, the second data includes an indication of an interaction between a third element of the second corpus of second data and a fourth element of the second corpus of data, and generating a third matrix using correlations of the first and second elements with correlations of the third and fourth elements.

1 . A computer-based method for merging heterogeneous data types, the method implemented using a computer device coupled to a memory device, the method comprising:
 receiving a first corpus of first data, the first data includes an indicator of an interaction between a first element of the first corpus of first data and a second element of the first corpus of first data;   receiving a second corpus of second data, the second data includes an indication of an interaction between a third element of the second corpus of second data and a fourth element of the second corpus of data; and   generating a third matrix using correlations of the first and second elements with correlations of the third and fourth elements.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-based method of  claim 1 , further comprising generating a first matrix that correlates the interactions between the first element and the second element. 
     
     
         3 . The computer-based method of  claim 2 , further comprising generating a second matrix that correlates the interactions between the third element and the fourth element. 
     
     
         4 . The computer-based method of  claim 3 , wherein generating a third matrix comprises generating the third matrix by merging the first matrix and the second matrix using a key defined by the interactions between the first and second elements and the interactions between the third and fourth elements. 
     
     
         5 . The computer-based method of  claim 1 , wherein generating a third matrix comprises generating the third matrix by merging the first matrix and the second matrix using a key including parameters of financial transaction data and defined by the interactions between the first and second elements and the interactions between the third and fourth elements.          6 . The computer-based method of  claim 1 , wherein receiving a first corpus of first data and receiving a second corpus of second data comprises receiving first data and second data that are heterogeneous.

The computer-based method of  claim 6 , wherein receiving first data and second data that are heterogeneous comprises receiving first data from a payment card network that includes a plurality of merchant locations and an indicator of an interaction between a first merchant location and a second merchant location. 
     
     
         8 . The computer-based method of  claim 7 , wherein generating a first matrix that correlates the interactions between the first element and the second element comprises generating the first matrix that correlates the interactions between the first merchant location and a second merchant location. 
     
     
         9 . The computer-based method of  claim 6 , wherein receiving first data and second data that are heterogeneous comprises receiving second data from a merchant that includes a plurality of product identifications and an indicator of an interaction between a first product identification and a second product identification. 
     
     
         10 . The computer-based method of  claim 9 , wherein generating a second matrix that correlates the interactions between the third element and the fourth element comprises generating the second matrix that correlates the interactions between the first product identification and a second product identification. 
     
     
         11 . The computer-based method of  claim 10 , further comprising generating a recommendation of one or more products based on first interactions between a first merchant location and a second merchant location and second interactions between a first product identification and a second product identification. 
     
     
         12 . The computer-based method of  claim 1 , wherein generating a third matrix by merging the first matrix and the second matrix using a key defined by the interactions between the first and second elements and the interactions between the third and fourth elements comprises generating the third matrix using at least one of an exact key, an overlapping key, and a non-overlapping key. 
     
     
         13 . The computer-based method of  claim 1 , further comprising updating in near real-time at least one of individual cells, individual columns, and individual rows of the third matrix based on transactions occurring within a predetermined time. 
     
     
         14 . A behavioral prediction recommender system comprising:
 a first matrix generator configured to generate a first matrix of merchant locations, said first matrix generator configured to interface with a payment card network to receive financial transaction data for a plurality of cardholders conducting transactions at a plurality of merchants;   a second matrix generator configured to generate a second matrix of product data said second matrix generator configured to receive product data from one or more merchants.   a matrix calculator configured to combine said first matrix and said second matrix to generate a third matrix; and   a list generator configured to generate weighted lists of recommended products and merchants and to transmit said lists to at least one of a cardholder and a customer.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein a tally of interactions between merchant locations is used to populate the first matrix. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the interactions between merchant locations is determined from the received financial transaction data by said first matrix generator. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the tally of interactions between product data is used to populate said second matrix. 
     
     
         18 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon, wherein when executed by at least one processor, the computer-executable instructions cause the processor to:
 receive a first corpus of first data, the first data includes an indicator of an interaction between a first element of the first corpus of first data and a second element of the first corpus of first data;   receive a second corpus of second data, the second data includes an indication of an interaction between a third element of the second corpus of second data and a fourth element of the second corpus of data;   generate a third matrix using correlations of the first and second elements with correlations of the third and fourth elements; and   transmit a structured resultant data element including a recommendation for at least one of the first, second, third and fourth elements to an entity requesting the recommendation.   
     
     
         19 . The computer-readable storage media of  claim 18 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the processor to generate a first matrix that correlates the interactions between the first element and the second element. 
     
     
         20 . The computer-readable storage media of  claim 18 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the processor to generate a second matrix that correlates the interactions between the third element and the fourth element. 
     
     
         21 . The computer-readable storage media of  claim 18 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the processor to generate the third matrix by merging the first matrix and the second matrix using a key defined by the interactions between the first and second elements and the interactions between the third and fourth elements.
