Abstract
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, presenting a plurality of unassociated media programs from a single presentation device having overlapping presentation periods, receiving information from a viewing apparatus to adjust an intensity of emitted light associated with one of the unassociated media programs, and adjusting the intensity of the emitted light in a manner that is detectable by the viewing apparatus supplying the information. Other embodiments are disclosed and contemplated.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device, comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
detecting that a first viewing apparatus is in operation and detecting that a second viewing apparatus is in operation;
presenting a first media content program during a first plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the first viewing apparatus and presenting a second media content program during a second plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the second viewing apparatus;
detecting that the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation;
identifying a light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus; and
presenting the first media content program during the second plurality of periodic time slots according to the light intensity preference resulting in an increased light intensity presentation of the first media content program.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise transmitting a synchronization signal to the first viewing apparatus to synchronize the first viewing apparatus according to the first plurality of periodic time slots and the second plurality of periodic time slots.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises detecting a decrease in illumination due to lack of use of the second plurality of periodic time slots.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises determining a decrease in illumination responsive to receiving illumination data from the first viewing apparatus.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises receiving a signal from the second viewing apparatus that the second viewing apparatus has terminated operation.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises receiving a signal from a remote controller indicating that presenting of the second media content program is terminated.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the identifying of the light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus further comprises:
accessing a user profile for a user associated with the first viewing apparatus; and determining the light intensity preference from the user profile.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the identifying of the light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus further comprises receiving a message from the first viewing apparatus, wherein the message indicates the light intensity preference.
9 . A machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
detecting that a first viewing apparatus is in operation and detecting that a second viewing apparatus is in operation; presenting a first media content program during a first plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the first viewing apparatus and presenting a second media content program during a second plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the second viewing apparatus; receiving a signal from the second viewing apparatus that the second viewing apparatus has terminated operation; identifying a light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus; and presenting the first media content program during the second plurality of periodic time slots according to the light intensity preference resulting in an increased light intensity presentation of the first media content program.
10 . The machine-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise transmitting a synchronization signal to the first viewing apparatus to synchronize the first viewing apparatus according to the first plurality of periodic time slots and the second plurality of periodic time slots.
11 . The machine-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the identifying of the light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus further comprises:
accessing a user profile for user associated with the first viewing apparatus; and determining the light intensity preference from the user profile.
12 . The machine-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the identifying of the light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus further comprises receiving a message from the first viewing apparatus, wherein the message indicates the light intensity preference.
13 . A method, comprising:
detecting, by a processing system including a processor, that a first viewing apparatus is in operation and detecting, by the processing system, that a second viewing apparatus is in operation; presenting, by the processing system, a first media content program during a first plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the first viewing apparatus and presenting a second media content program during a second plurality of periodic time slots that is viewed using the second viewing apparatus; detecting, by the processing system, that the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation; identifying, by the processing system, a light intensity preference for the first viewing apparatus responsive to receiving a message from the first viewing apparatus, wherein the message provides an indication to the light intensity preference; and presenting, by the processing system, the first media content program during the second plurality of periodic time slots according to the light intensity preference resulting in an increased light intensity presentation of the first media content program.
14 . The method of claim 13 , comprising transmitting a synchronization signal to the first viewing apparatus to synchronize the first viewing apparatus according to the first plurality of periodic time slots and the second plurality of periodic time slots.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises detecting, by the processing system, a decrease in illumination due to lack of use of the second plurality of periodic time slots.
16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises determining, by the processing system, a decrease in illumination responsive to receiving illumination data from the first viewing apparatus.
17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises receiving, by the processing system, a signal from the second viewing apparatus that the second viewing apparatus has terminated operation.
18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the detecting the second viewing apparatus has discontinued operation further comprises receiving, by the processing system, a signal from a remote controller indicating that presenting of the second media content program is terminated.
19 . The method of claim 13 , comprising:
accessing a user profile for a user associated with the first viewing apparatus responsive to receiving the message from the first viewing apparatus that includes the indication to the light intensity preference, wherein the indication provides instructions to access the user profile; and determining the light intensity preference from the user profile.
20 . The method of claim 13 , comprising receiving another message from the first viewing apparatus to change the first media content program from a two dimensional media content program to a three dimensional media content program.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
