Adventure sequence activities
Abstract
Some implementations of the invention provide methods and devices for various types of adventure sequences that preferably involve, at least in part, wagering games. Such sequences may involve wagering and/or other games at a plurality of gaming devices, tables and/or gaming establishments. Some implementations provide a virtual gaming experience wherein one or more other environments are simulated at a single location. Accordingly, adventure sequences described herein may comprise stages in one or more virtual environments, stages in one or more real environments or a combination of the two. Virtual players, also referred to herein as player game agents (PGAs), may act on behalf of real players. A PGA may be able to play games autonomously, e.g., when the associated player is at a different location and/or is not aware of the PGA's current activities. PGAs may be enabled to negotiate on behalf of real players, e.g., for comps, better pay table percentages, etc.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe invention is claimed as follows:
1 . A method comprising:
establishing communication with a mobile device via a wireless communication interface; monitoring, by at least one processor and based on location data received from the mobile device, a location of the mobile device; responsive to the location of the mobile device satisfying a condition, enabling participation in a first activity using the mobile device; receiving, via the wireless communication interface and from the mobile device, data associated with an input to the mobile device, the input associated with the first activity; determining, by the at least one processor, an outcome of the first activity based at least in part on the data associated with the input; sending, via the wireless communication interface and to the mobile device, data representing the outcome of the first activity to enable the mobile device to display the outcome; and sending, via the wireless communication interface and to the mobile device, data associated with a location of a second activity to enable the mobile device to display information related to the location of the second activity.
2 . The method of claim 1 , which includes periodically receiving, via the wireless communication interface and from the mobile device, the location data that represents the location of the mobile device.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the location data includes GPS location data.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the condition is satisfied when the location of the mobile device is within a designated vicinity of a location associated with the first activity.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the location of the second activity includes a graphical icon.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first activity includes a wager-based gaming activity.
7 . The method of claim 1 , which includes sending the data associated with the location of the second activity to the mobile device responsive to the outcome of the first activity satisfying an advance condition.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the advance condition is satisfied when the outcome of the first activity is a winning outcome.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless communication interface is a cellular communication interface.
10 . The method of claim 1 , which includes providing an award responsive to completion of an activity sequence, wherein completion of the activity sequence is based in part on the outcome of the first activity.
11 . A system comprising:
a wireless communication interface; at least one processor; and at least one memory device that stores instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the wireless communication interface to: establish communication with a mobile device; monitor, based on location data received from the mobile device, a location of the mobile device; responsive to the location of the mobile device satisfying a condition, enable participation in a first activity using the mobile device; responsive to receiving data associated with an input to the mobile device, the input associated with the first activity, determine an outcome of the first activity based at least in part on the data associated with the input; send, to the mobile device, data representing the outcome of the first activity to enable the mobile device to display the outcome; and send, to the mobile device, data associated with a location of a second activity to enable the mobile device to display information related to the location of the second activity.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the location data is periodically received.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the location data includes GPS location data.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the condition is satisfied when the location of the mobile device is within a designated vicinity of a location associated with the first activity.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the information related to the location of the second activity includes a graphical icon.
16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the first activity includes a wager-based gaming activity.
17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the wireless communication interface to send the data associated with the location of the second activity to the mobile device responsive to the outcome of the first activity satisfying an advance condition.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the advance condition is satisfied when the outcome of the first activity is a winning outcome.
19 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the wireless communication interface is a cellular communication interface.
20 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to provide an award responsive to completion of an activity sequence, wherein completion of the activity sequence is based in part on the outcome of the first activity.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
