Abstract

Fibrous structures and more particularly fibrous structures containing a plurality of hydroxyl polymer fibrous elements, for example hydroxyl polymer filaments, such that the fibrous structures exhibit improved surface properties compared to known fibrous structures and methods for making such fibrous structures are provided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

. A fibrous structure comprising a plurality of filaments and fibers, wherein the fibrous structure comprises at least one uncreped exterior surface such that the fibrous structure exhibits an average TS7 value of less than 6.25 dB V 2 rms as measured according to the Emtec Test Method.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the fibrous structure exhibits an average TS750 value of greater than 6.00 dB V 2 rms as measured according to the Emtec Test Method.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the fibers comprise pulp fibers.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 3 wherein the pulp fibers comprise wood pulp fibers.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the filaments comprise a hydroxyl polymer.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 5 wherein the hydroxyl polymer is selected from the group consisting of: starch, starch derivatives, starch copolymers, chitosan, chitosan derivatives, chitosan copolymers, cellulose, cellulose derivatives, cellulose derivatives, cellulose copolymers, hemicelluloses, hemicelluloses derivatives, hemicelluloses copolymers, and mixtures thereof.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 5 wherein the hydroxyl polymer is selected from the group consisting of: starch, starch derivatives, and mixtures thereof.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the at least one uncreped exterior surface comprises at least a portion of the filaments.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the at least one uncreped exterior surface is substantially void of fibers.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein at least a portion of the fibers are positioned interior to the at least one uncreped exterior surface.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 1 wherein the fibrous structure comprises the fibers positioned between two of the uncreped exterior surfaces comprising the filaments.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 11 wherein the two uncreped exterior surfaces are substantially void of fibers.

. A fibrous structure comprising a plurality of hydroxyl polymer filaments that are present in at least one exterior layer of the fibrous structure at a level of greater than 5 gsm such that the fibrous structure exhibits an average TS7 value of less than 10.00 dB V 2 rms as measured according to the Emtec Test Method.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 13 wherein the hydroxyl polymer filaments are present in the exterior layer of the fibrous structure at a level of greater than 6 gsm.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 13 wherein the hydroxyl polymer filaments comprise a hydroxyl polymer selected from the group consisting of: starch, starch derivatives, starch copolymers, chitosan, chitosan derivatives, chitosan copolymers, cellulose, cellulose derivatives, cellulose derivatives, cellulose copolymers, hemicelluloses, hemicelluloses derivatives, hemicelluloses copolymers, and mixtures thereof.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 13 wherein the hydroxyl polymer filaments comprise a hydroxyl polymer selected from the group consisting of: starch, starch derivatives, and mixtures thereof.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 30 wherein the fibrous structure further comprises a plurality of fibers.

. A fibrous structure comprising a plurality of fibers, wherein the fibrous structure comprises at least one uncreped exterior surface such that the fibrous structure exhibits an average TS7 value of less than 6.25 dB V 2 rms as measured according to the Emtec Test Method.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 18 wherein the fibers comprise pulp fibers.

. The fibrous structure according to claim 19 wherein the pulp fibers comprise wood pulp fibers.
