Claims

Abstract

A package of absorbent sanitary paper products is disclosed. Each of the absorbent sanitary paper product comprises a through air dried first network of fibers having a basis weight of less than about 95 g/m 2 , a density of less than 0.30 g/cm 3 , a total dry tensile strength of less than 8000 gf/in, and a second network of fibers comprising individual fibers adhesively attached with an adhesive thereto. Each fiber of the first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine and cross-machine directions, and each individual fiber of the second network of fibers having a longitudinal axis having a component thereof generally disposed in the Z-direction and an average length at least about 20% greater than fibers comprising the first network of fibers.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A package of absorbent sanitary paper products, each of said absorbent sanitary paper products having a machine direction, a cross-machine direction orthogonal and co-planar thereto, and a Z-direction orthogonal to both the machine- and cross-machine directions, each of said absorbent sanitary paper products comprising a through air dried first network of fibers having a basis weight of less than about 95 g/m 2 , a density of less than 0.30 g/cm 3 , a total dry tensile strength of less than 8000 gf/in, and a second network of fibers comprising individual fibers adhesively attached with an adhesive thereto, each fiber of said first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine and cross-machine directions, and each individual fiber of said second network of fibers having a longitudinal axis having a component thereof generally disposed in the Z-direction and an average length at least about 20% greater than fibers comprising said first network of fibers. 
     
     
         2 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 1  wherein each of said absorbent sanitary paper products is convolutely wound about itself to form a dispensable roll. 
     
     
         3 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 1  wherein said first network of fibers has a basis weight ranging from between about 10 g/m 2  and about 75 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         4 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 1  wherein said first network of fibers has a density of less than about 0.30 g/cm 3  measured at a pressure trap point (PTP) of 100 g/in 2 . 
     
     
         5 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 4  wherein said first network of fibers has a density ranging from about 0.12 g/cm 3  to about 0.05 g/cm 3  measured at a pressure trap point (PTP) of 100 g/in 2 . 
     
     
         6 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 1  wherein said first network of fibers has a total dry tensile strength of less than 5000 gf/in. 
     
     
         7 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 6  wherein said first network of fibers has a total dry tensile strength of less than 3000 gf/in. 
     
     
         8 . A package of absorbent sanitary paper products, each of said absorbent sanitary paper products having a machine direction, a cross machine direction orthogonal and co-planar thereto, and a Z-direction orthogonal to both the machine- and cross-machine directions, each of said absorbent sanitary paper products comprising a through air dried first network of fibers having a total dry tensile strength of less than about 8000 gf/in, a density of less than 0.30 g/cm 3 , and a second network of fibers comprising individual fibers adhesively attached with an adhesive thereto, each fiber of said first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine and cross-machine directions, and each individual fiber of said second network of fibers having a longitudinal axis having a component thereof generally disposed in the Z-direction and an average length at least about 20% greater than fibers comprising said first network of fibers. 
     
     
         9 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 8  wherein said first network of fibers has a basis weight of less than about 75 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         10 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 9  wherein said first network of fibers has a basis weight ranging from between about 10 g/m 2  and about 75 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         11 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 8  wherein said first network of fibers has a density of less than about 0.30 g/cm 3  measured at a pressure trap point (PTP) of 100 g/in 2 . 
     
     
         12 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 11  wherein said first network of fibers has a density ranging from about 0.12 g/cm 3  to about 0.05 g/cm 3  measured at a pressure trap point (PTP) of 100 g/in 2 . 
     
     
         13 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 8  wherein each of said absorbent sanitary paper products is convolutely wound about itself to form a dispensable roll. 
     
     
         14 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 8  wherein said first network of fibers has a total dry tensile strength of less than 3000 gf/in. 
     
     
         15 .          17 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 15  wherein each of said absorbent sanitary paper products is convolutely wound about itself to form a dispensable roll. 
     
     
         18 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 15  wherein said first network of fibers has a density ranging from about 0.12 g/cm 3  to about 0.05 g/cm 3  measured at a pressure trap point (PTP) of 100 g/in 2 . 
     
     
         19 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 15  wherein said first network of fibers has a total dry tensile strength of less than 5000 gf/in. 
     
     
         20 . The package of absorbent sanitary paper products of  claim 19  wherein said first network of fibers has a total dry tensile strength of less than 3000 gf/in.
