Biopsy channel attachment adaptor
Abstract
An adaptor for an endoscopic device includes (a) a cylindrical core extending from a first end to a second end along a central axis and (b) a collar slidably received over the core. The second end includes first and second slots defining first and second arms which radially expandable toward the axis and away from the axis. The second end is sized and dimensioned to engage an end of a first conduit of a biopsy device. The collar extendes from a first end to a second end and being movable from a first position in which the second end of the collar is axially separated from the arms and a second position in which a portion of the collar is positioned over the arms radially compressing the arms to lockingly grasp a free end of a first conduit positioned therebetween to create a fluid-tight seal about the first conduit.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 18 . (canceled)
19 . An adaptor, comprising:
a core extending from a first end to a second end along an axis, the second end including a slot disposed between first and second arms, the first and second arms being radially moveable toward the axis and away from the axis; and a collar movable relative to the core, the collar extending from a first end to a second end and being movable from a first position in which the second end of the collar is separated from the first and second arms, and a second position in which a portion of the collar is positioned over the arms radially compressing the first and second arms, wherein the collar moves from the first end of the core towards the second end of the core when the collar moves from the first position to the second position.
20 . The adaptor of claim 19 , wherein the second end of the core is sized and dimensioned to engage a free end of a first conduit of a biopsy device.
21 . The adaptor of claim 20 , wherein, when radially compressed, the first and second arms grasp the free end of the first conduit positioned therebetween to create a fluid-tight seal about the first conduit.
22 . The adaptor of claim 20 , further including a luer positioned on the first end of the core, the luer having an opening fluidly connected to the first conduit.
23 . The adaptor of claim 20 , further including a seal positioned within the core and extending from a first end to a second end, the second end of the seal engaging the free end of the first conduit when the collar is in the second position to form a fluid-tight seal with the first conduit.
24 . The adaptor of claim 23 , wherein the seal includes a rubber material.
25 . The adaptor of claim 20 , wherein the first conduit is a cannula.
26 . The adaptor of claim 20 , wherein the free end of the first conduit is the proximalmost end of the first conduit.
27 . The adaptor of claim 20 , wherein the first conduit is removeably engaged with the core.
28 . The adaptor of claim 19 , wherein the first and second arms include radial abutments extending inward toward the axis.
29 . The adaptor of claim 19 , wherein the collar is disposed over the core.
30 . The adaptor of claim 19 , wherein the core is configured to limit axial movement of the collar.
31 . The adaptor of claim 19 , wherein the first and second arms are biased to a radially expanded configuration.
32 . The adaptor of claim 31 , wherein a diameter of the collar tapers from the first and second ends to a mid-portion, the diameter at the mid-portion being smaller than a diameter of the first and second arms in the radially expanded configuration.
33 . An adaptor, comprising:
a first member extending from a first end to a second end along an axis, the second end including a slot disposed between first and second arms disposed around the axis, the first and second arms being moveable toward the axis and away from the axis; and a second member movable relative to the first member, the second member extending from a first end to a second end, and being movable from a first position in which the second end of the second member is separated from the first and second arms, and a second position in which a portion of the second member is positioned over the first and second arms compressing the first and second arms toward the axis, wherein the second member moves from the first end of the first member towards the second end of the first member when the second member moves from the first position to the second position.
34 . The adaptor of claim 33 , wherein the first member includes a core, and the second member includes a collar.
35 . The adaptor of claim 33 , wherein the second member is disposed over the first member, and is slidable relative to the first member.
36 . An adaptor, comprising:
a core extending from a first end to a second end along an axis, the second end including a slot disposed between two or more arms, the two or more arms being radially moveable toward the axis and away from the axis; and a collar slidable relative to the core, the collar extending from a first end to a second end and being slidable from a first position in which the second end of the collar is separated from the two or more arms, and a second position in which a portion of the collar is positioned over the two or more arms radially compressing the two or more arms, the collar including an engaging member extending radially inward from an inner surface of the collar, and the engaging member being configured to prevent disengagement of the collar from the core.
37 . The adaptor of claim 36 , wherein the engaging member includes teeth projecting radially inward from the inner surface of the collar, and the core further includes at least one engaging slot configured to receive the teeth.
38 . The adaptor of claim 37 , wherein the collar slides from the first end of the core towards the second end of the core when the collar moves from the first position to the second position.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
