Cosmetics Retrieval Device and Applicator

Abstract

Disclosed herein are various embodiments of devices for retrieving and applying product from within a container. In one embodiment the device comprises a shaft having a proximal and distal end; a tip positioned at the distal end of the shaft; and a cap positioned at the proximal end of the shaft, the cap comprising a twist activated deployment mechanism having a top portion and a bottom portion configured to rotate that rotate in opposing directions. The tip is coupled to the deployment mechanism near the distal end of the shaft and configured to move between at least a first and second position.

1 . A device for retrieving and applying product from within a container, the device comprising:
 a shaft having a proximal and distal end;   a tip positioned at the distal end of the shaft; and   a cap positioned at the proximal end of the shaft, the cap comprising a twist activated deployment mechanism having a top portion and a bottom portion configured to rotate that rotate in opposing directions;   wherein the tip is coupled to the deployment mechanism near the distal end of the shaft and configured to move between at least a first and second position.   
     
     
         2 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the wherein the deployment mechanism is a rod configured to move downward towards the distal end of the shaft as the at least bottom portion of the cap is rotated thereby deploying the tip outward at an angle relative to the shaft. 
     
     
         3 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the second position of the tip is about a 90 degree angle from the first position. 
     
     
         4 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the tip comprises at least a first and second portion, wherein the second portion is removable and replaceable. 
     
     
         5 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the tip comprises a synthetic sponge covering. 
     
     
         6 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the tip comprises a removable brush. 
     
     
         7 . A system, comprising:
 a container configured for containing a product therein; and   a device for retrieving and applying product from within a container, the device comprising:
 a shaft having a proximal and distal end; 
 a tip positioned at the distal end of the shaft; and 
 a cap positioned at the proximal end of the shaft, the cap comprising a twist activated deployment mechanism having a top portion and a bottom portion configured to rotate that rotate in opposing directions; 
 wherein the tip is coupled to the deployment mechanism near the distal end of the shaft and configured to move between at least a first and second position.

The system according to  claim 7 , wherein the wherein the deployment mechanism is a rod configured to move downward towards the distal end of the shaft as the at least bottom portion of the cap is rotated thereby deploying the tip outward at an angle relative to the shaft. 
     
     
         9 . The system according to  claim 7 , wherein the second position of the tip is about a 90 degree angle from the first position. 
     
     
         10 . The system according to  claim 7 , wherein the tip comprises at least a first and second portion, wherein the second portion is removable and replaceable. 
     
     
         11 . The system according to  claim 7 , wherein the tip comprises a synthetic sponge covering. 
     
     
         12 . The system according to  claim 7 , wherein the tip comprises a removable brush. 
     
     
         13 . A device for retrieving and applying product from within a container, the device comprising:
 a cap;   a flexible shaft having a proximal and distal end, the flexible shaft coupled with the cap at the proximal end;   a rod having a proximal and distal end, the rod positioned within the flexible shaft; and   a tip coupled to the distal end of the rod by a living hinge;   wherein pressure applied between the proximal and distal end of the flexible shaft bends the living hinge thereby rotating the tip from a first position to a second position.   
     
     
         14 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the second position of the tip is about a 90 degree angle from the first position. 
     
     
         15 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the tip comprises a synthetic sponge covering. 
     
     
         16 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the tip comprises a brush. 
     
     
         17 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the tip comprises rubber. 
     
     
         18 . The device according to  claim 13 , wherein the tip comprises at least a first and second portion, wherein the second portion is removable and replaceable.
