Claims

Abstract

A towel to dry a wet infant or toddler enabling use of both hands is described. The towel used to wrap and dry an infant comprises a segment of fabric draped on a person with extra area so it maybe folded over the infant or toddler. The towel has provision for snaps to secure the folded towel around the infant, a hood at the top to cover the infants head and one or more means to secure the towel to the person drying the infant or toddler. In a second use, the towel is used to wrap and dry a toddler with the strap detached using the snaps provided on the segments of fabric to secure the towel around the toddler.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant comprising:
 a first segment of drying fabric draped on a person drying said infant,   an adjoining segment of fabric used to fold around to wrap and dry said infant,   one or more quick releasing straps to hold said segments in place around person drying and wrapping infant, and;   securing means on said straps so they are easily released so the wrapped infant may be set down.   
     
     
         2 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where a hood is present at the top of said first segment of drying fabric to cover the infants head. 
     
     
         3 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where snaps are present on the side of the first segment of fabric to secure the folded towel around the infant. 
     
     
         4 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where a strap to hold said segment in place is a strap around the wearers neck. 
     
     
         5 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where a strap to hold said segment in place is a diagonal strap over the shoulder of the person wearing the towel. 
     
     
         6 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where a means to secure the towel to the person drying the infant consists of a off the shoulder or under arm strap to wrap around the person wearing the towel. 
     
     
         7 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where said adjoining segment of towel to wrap over the infant is to the right side of the area covering the wearers body so it is folded left to cover and dry the infant. 
     
     
         8 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where said adjoining segment of towel to wrap over the infant is to the left side of said first segment covering the wearers body so it is folded right to cover and dry the infant. 
     
     
         9 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant of  claim 1  where said adjoining segment of towel to wrap over the infant is below the first segment of the towel covering the wearers body so it is folded up to cover and dry the infant. 
     
     
         10 . A towel to wrap and dry a toddler comprising:
 a first segment of drying fabric for drying said toddler,   an adjoining segment of fabric used to fold around to wrap and dry said toddler, and;   securing means on said segments of fabric to secure and wrap the towel around said toddler.   
     
     
         11 . A towel to wrap and dry a toddler of  claim 10  where a hood is present at the top of said first segment of drying fabric to cover the toddlers head. 
     
     
         12 . A towel to wrap and dry a toddler of  claim 10  where snaps are present on the segments of fabric to secure the folded towel around the toddler. 
     
     
         13 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant or a toddler comprising:
 a first segment of drying fabric draped on a person drying said infant,   an adjoining segment of fabric used to fold around to wrap and dry said infant,   one or more quick releasing straps to hold said segments in place around person drying and wrapping infant, and;   securing means on said straps so they are easily released so the wrapped infant may be set down.   
     
     
         14 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant or a toddler of  claim 13  where said strap detaches completely from the towel and is not used at all. 
     
     
         15 . A towel to wrap and dry an infant or a toddler of  claim 13  where the towel is not worn by a caregiver but lies aside until toddler is out of the bath and wrapped in it.
