Abstract
A method of tooth whitening including the application of a tooth whitening composition to teeth including an aqueous activation part comprising a peroxide activating component, and a peroxide part comprising a peroxide component that does not contain a peroxide stabilizer, wherein the activation part and the peroxide part are each flowable compositions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
. A method of whitening at least one tooth, comprising:
combining an aqueous activation part comprising (a) a peroxide activating component with (b) a peroxide part comprising a peroxide component to form a tooth whitening composition, and applying the tooth whitening composition to at least one tooth, wherein the peroxide part does not contain a peroxide stabilizer.
. The method of claim 1 , further comprising allowing the tooth whitening composition to remain on the at least one tooth for about 1 minute to about 30 minutes.
. The method of claim 1 , further comprising applying a whitening light to the at least one tooth after applying the tooth whitening composition.
. The method of claim 2 , further comprising applying a whitening light to the at least one tooth after applying the tooth whitening composition.
. The method of claim 1 , further comprising applying a pre-whitening gel prior to applying the tooth whitening composition.
. The method of claim 2 , further comprising applying a pre-whitening gel prior to applying the tooth whitening composition.
. The method of claim 3 , further comprising applying a pre-whitening gel prior to applying the tooth whitening composition.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the peroxide activating component is selected from the group consisting of sodium tripolyphosphate, tripotassium phosphate, KOH, NaOH, NaHCO3, organic amines, such as triethylamine, salts of boric acid, and combinations thereof.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the peroxide activating component is selected from the group consisting of sodium tripolyphosphate, tripotassium phosphate, KOH, NaOH, NaHCO3, organic amines, such as triethylamine, salts of boric acid, and combinations thereof.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the peroxide activating component is present in an amount of about 1 weight percent (wt %) to about 20 wt % based on the total weight of the activation part.
. The method of 1 , wherein the activation part further comprises an agent for promoting oral health.
. The method of claim 11 , wherein the agent for promoting oral health is selected from the group consisting of tartar prevention agents, cavity prevention agents, anti-gingivitis agents, and combinations thereof.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the activation part further comprises a tooth desensitizing agent.
. The method of claim 13 , wherein the tooth desensitizing agent is selected from the group consisting of potassium nitrate, strontium chloride, sodium fluoride, ferric oxalate, and combinations thereof.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the peroxide component is hydrogen peroxide.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the peroxide component is present in an amount of about 10 wt % to about 80 wt % based on the total weight of the peroxide part.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the peroxide part comprises water in an amount of about 1 wt % to about 90 wt % based on the total weight of the peroxide part.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pH of the tooth whitening composition after combination of (a) and (b) is about 7 to about 9.
. The method of 1 , wherein the viscosity of the tooth whitening composition after combination of (a) and (b) is about 2 cps to about 1000 cps.
. The method of 2 , wherein the viscosity of the tooth whitening composition after combination of (a) and (b) is about 2 cps to about 1000 cps.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
