Method and system for displaying information regarding a bonus program to a driver

Abstract

A method of reporting a performance of a driver of a fleet vehicle that includes, while operating the fleet vehicle, automatically collecting vehicle data that can be used to evaluate the driver's performance and enabling a specific driver to be associated with the vehicle data and using a computing device to analyze the vehicle data to calculate a driver efficiency performance ranking. The driver efficiency performance ranking is displayed on a driver efficiency performance ranking website, where the display includes information about a performance bonus the driver is eligible for by meeting a specified performance ranking.

The invention in which an exclusive right is claimed is defined by the following: 
     
         1 . A method of reporting a performance of a driver of a fleet vehicle, comprising the steps of:
 (a) while operating the fleet vehicle, automatically collecting vehicle data that can be used to evaluate the driver's performance and enabling a specific driver to be associated with the vehicle data;   (b) using a computing device to analyze the vehicle data to calculate a driver efficiency performance ranking; and   (c) displaying the driver efficiency performance ranking, on a driver efficiency performance ranking website, where the display includes information about a performance bonus the driver is eligible for by meeting a specified performance ranking.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the performance bonus is a bonus for a fixed number of drivers who have top scores in the driver efficiency performance ranking. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a graphic indicating ranking for driver's driver efficiency performance ranking is displayed. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the performance bonus is a bonus for a fixed number of most improved drivers. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the driver's relative improvement ranking is displayed. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the performance bonus is a bonus for a fixed number of drivers with top scores for a specific metric. 
     
     
         7 . The method of claim of  claim 6 , wherein the driver's score for the specific metric is displayed. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein a graphic representing the driver's score the specific metric is displayed. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the specific metric is brake temperature. 
     
     
         10 . A system for reporting a performance of a driver of a fleet vehicle, comprising the steps of:
 (a) a data collection assembly, which during operation of the vehicle automatically collects vehicle data that can be used to evaluate the driver's performance and enables a specific driver to be associated with the vehicle data;   (b) a computing device that analyzes the vehicle data to calculate a driver efficiency performance ranking; and   (c) a website hosting assembly that displays the driver efficiency performance ranking, on a driver efficiency performance ranking website, where the display includes information about a performance bonus the driver is eligible for by meeting a specified performance ranking.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the performance bonus is a bonus for a fixed number of drivers who have top scores in the driver efficiency performance ranking. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein a graphic indicating ranking for driver's driver efficiency performance ranking is displayed. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the performance bonus is a bonus for a fixed number of most improved drivers.
