Abstract
Oversized basketball rims that are directly attached to standard basketball backboards are disclosed, designed to improve the confidence of basketball players. Also, undersized basketball rims that are directly attached to standard basketball backboards, designed to improve the accuracy of basketball players are disclosed.

A basketball rim and net wherein the basketball rim comprises a basketball rim having an interior diameter of from about thirteen. to about seventeen inches, or an interior diameter from about nineteen to about thirty-six inches, wherein the basketball rim is directly mounted to a basketball backboard, and wherein the basketball rim is not retrofitted onto an standard basketball rim; and wherein the net comprises a basketball net having an opening of from about thirteen inches to about seventeen inches, or from about nineteen to about thirty-six inches in diameter.
