Abstract

The hanging garment cover is a cover that is adapted to be used with a hanger. The hanging garment cover is placed over a hanger holding apparel. The hanging garment cover prevents apparel from falling off the hanger and prevents apparel from getting entangled with hangers holding other garments. The hanging garment cover comprises a shield and a plurality of magnets.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A hanging garment cover comprising:
 a shield and a plurality of magnets; wherein the hanging garment cover is adapted for use with a hanger; wherein the hanging garment cover is hinged; wherein the plurality of magnets adaptively secure the hanging cover to garments hanging on the hanger.

         2 . The hanging garment cover according to  claim 1  wherein the shield is formed from a rectangular sheet of plastic;
 wherein the rectangular sheet of plastic is further defined with a length, a width, and a thickness;
 wherein the rectangular sheet of plastic is further defined with a fifteenth edge, a sixteenth edge, a seventeenth edge and an eighteenth edge;
 wherein the fifteenth edge and seventeenth edge run along the length of the rectangular sheet of plastic;
 wherein the sixteenth edge and the eighteenth edge run along the width of the rectangular sheet of plastic.

         3 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 2 wherein the shield further comprises a hanger slot, a fifth wing, a sixth wing a seventh hinge strip, an eighth hinge strip, a ninth cut out, and a tenth cut out.

         4 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 3 wherein the fifth wing is formed by removing the ninth cut out from the rectangular sheet of plastic; wherein the sixth wing are formed by removing the tenth cut out from the rectangular sheet of plastic.

         5 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 4 wherein
 the ninth cut out is an open area formed in the shape of a parabola;
 wherein the tenth cut out is an open area formed in the shape of a parabola.

         6 . The hanging garment cover according to  claim 5  wherein the ninth cut out is formed in the eighteenth edge;
 wherein the tenth cut out is formed in the sixteenth edge.

         7 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 6 wherein
 the width of the parabola that forms the ninth cut out is smaller at points proximal to the hanger slot, and grow larger as points grow more distant from the hanger slot;
 wherein the width of the parabola that forms the tenth cut out is smaller at points proximal to the hanger slot, and grow larger as points grow more distant from the hanger slot.

         8 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 7 wherein a nineteenth hypothetical line extends between the point of the ninth cut out and the point of the tenth cut out.

         9 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 8 wherein the nineteenth hypothetical line runs through the hanger slot, the seventh hinge strip, and the eighth hinge strip.

         10 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 9 wherein the hanger slot is an oval hole that is formed through the rectangular sheet of plastic.

         11 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 10 wherein
 the hanger slot is centered on the nineteenth hypothetical line;
 wherein the hanger slot is centered between the ninth cut out and the tenth cut out.

         12 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 11 wherein the nineteenth hypothetical line divides the rectangular sheet of plastic into the fifth wing and the sixth wing.

         13 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 12 wherein the fifth wing and the sixth wing are identical.

         14 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 13 wherein
 the fifth wing is formed with a thirteenth magnet pocket and a fourteenth magnet pocket;
 wherein the sixth wing is formed with an eleventh magnet pocket and a twelfth magnet pocket.

         15 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 14 wherein the eleventh magnet pocket overlays onto the thirteenth magnet pocket and the twelfth magnet pocket overlays the fourteenth magnet pocket.

         16 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 15 wherein
 the seventh hinge strip is positioned between the hanger slot and the ninth cut out;
 a seventh thickness of the seventh hinge strip is less than a fifth thickness of fifth wing and a sixth thickness of the sixth wing;
 wherein the eighth hinge strip is positioned between the hanger slot and the tenth cut out;
 an eighth thickness of the eighth strip is less than the fifth thickness of fifth wing and the sixth thickness of the sixth wing.

         17 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 16 wherein
 the seventh hinge strip is formed such that the seventh hinge strip is folded around an axis formed by the nineteenth hypothetical line;
 wherein the eighth hinge strip is formed such that the eighth hinge strip is folded around an axis formed by the nineteenth hypothetical line.

         18 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 17 wherein
 the fifth wing is attached to the seventh hinge strip and the eighteenth hinge strip;
 wherein the sixth wing is attached to the seventh hinge strip and the eighteenth hinge strip.

         19 . The hanging garment cover according to claim 18 wherein the plurality of magnets comprises a first magnet, a second magnet, a third magnet, and a fourth magnet.
