Abstract
The present disclosure provides an exemplary system, method, and computer program product. The exemplary method includes communicating with a provider of digital content to request data regarding a specific item of interest using a mobile device associated with a user. The method further includes receiving the requested data regarding the specific item of interest from the provider of digital content on the mobile device. The method further includes rendering the received data regarding the specific item of interest on a display of the mobile device, the rendering including superimposing the received data on a street view. The method further includes navigating through the street view according to navigation functions of the mobile device to locate a physical commercial location that carries the specific item of interest.

1 . A system comprising:
a non-transitory memory storing instructions; a location determination system configured to detect a location of a user device; and one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and the location determination system, and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
receiving a search result regarding a requested item;
overlaying data corresponding to the search result on a first person perspective street view, the first person perspective street view being selectable between an augmented reality mode display and a static mode display;
displaying the overlaid data in the augmented reality mode display, the augmented reality mode display updating the first person perspective street view on the display with the overlaid data based on the detected location of the user device;
switching to the static mode display in response to a user input on the user device, the static mode display updating the first person perspective street view and the overlaid data in response to a user navigation function input on the user device; and
switching back to the augmented reality mode display.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the switching back to the augmented reality mode display further comprises:
switching back from the static mode display to the augmented reality mode display in response to expiration of a timeout period triggered by the user navigation function input.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the switching back to the augmented reality mode display further comprises:
switching back from the static mode display to the augmented reality mode display in response to detecting a change in location of the user device by the location determination system.
4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a gyroscope, the operations further comprising:
navigating the first person perspective street view during the static mode display in response to one or more tilting operations of the user device detected by the gyroscope, wherein a speed of the navigating is based on a combination of an angle of rotation of the user device and a speed of rotation of the user device, detected by the gyroscope, as the one or more tilting operations.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:
obtaining, by an image capture device, an image of the requested item; and transmitting, to a content provider server, the image to be analyzed to identify the requested item, wherein the receiving is in response to the obtaining and the transmitting.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the location determination system comprises a global positioning system transceiver.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the displaying further comprises:
receiving a live image feed from an image capture device; and limiting the overlaid data to displaying in response to the overlaid data being within a viewable range of the user device according to the detected location of the user device.
8 . A method comprising:
receiving a search result regarding a requested item at a mobile device; overlaying, on a display screen of the mobile device, data corresponding to the search result on a first person perspective street view, the first person perspective street view being selectable between an augmented reality mode display and a static mode display; displaying the overlaid data in the augmented reality mode display, the augmented reality mode display updating the first person perspective street view on the display with the overlaid data; switching to the static mode display in response to a user input on the mobile device, the static mode display updating the first person perspective street view and the overlaid data in response to a user navigation function input on the mobile device; and switching back to the augmented reality mode display.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the switching back to the augmented reality mode display further comprises:
switching back from the static mode display to the augmented reality mode display in response to expiration of a timeout period triggered by the user navigation function input.
10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
displaying, in response to the receiving the search result, the overlaid data initially in the static mode display; and switching to the augmented reality mode display in in response to detecting a first change in location of the mobile device by a location determination system, wherein the switching back to the augmented reality mode display further comprises switching back from the static mode display to the augmented reality mode display in response to detecting a second change in location of the mobile device by the location determination system.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the location determination system comprises a global positioning system transceiver.
12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
navigating the first person perspective street view during the static mode display in response to one or more tilting operations of the mobile device detected by a gyroscope, wherein a speed of the navigating is based on a combination of an angle of rotation of the mobile device and a speed of rotation of the mobile device, detected by the gyroscope, as the one or more tilting operations.
13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
obtaining, by an image capture device of the mobile device, an image of the requested item; and transmitting, to a content provider server, the image to be analyzed to identify the requested item, wherein the receiving is in response to the obtaining and the transmitting.
14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the displaying further comprises:
receiving a live image feed from an image capture device of the mobile device; and limiting the overlaid data to displaying in response to the overlaid data being within a viewable range of the user device according to a detected location of the mobile device.
15 . A mobile device comprising a non-transitory, tangible computer readable storage medium having stored thereon computer-readable instructions executable to cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
overlaying, on a display screen of a mobile device, data corresponding to a search result regarding a requested item on a first person perspective street view, the first person perspective street view being selectable between a dynamic mode display and a static mode display; displaying the overlaid data in the static mode display, the static mode display updating the first person perspective street view and the overlay of the data in response to a user navigation function input on the mobile device; switching to the dynamic mode display in response to detecting a change in location of the mobile device by a location determination system; and displaying the overlaid data in the dynamic mode display, the dynamic mode display updating the first person perspective street view on the display with the overlaid data based on a location of the mobile device detected by a location determination system of the mobile device.
16 . The mobile device of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
switching to the static mode display from the dynamic mode display in response to a user input on the mobile device; and switching back to the dynamic mode display in response to expiration of a timeout period triggered by the user input.
17 . The mobile device of claim 15 , wherein the dynamic mode display comprises an augmented reality mode display, the operations further comprising, during the augmented reality mode display:
receiving a live image feed from an image capture device of the mobile device; and limiting the overlaid data to displaying in response to the overlaid data being within a viewable range of the user device according to the detected location of the mobile device.
18 . The mobile device of claim 15 , wherein the dynamic mode display comprises content provided from a content provider server, the updating comprising updating the first person perspective street view with content obtained from the content provider server.
19 . The mobile device of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:
navigating the first person perspective street view during the static mode display in response to one or more tilting operations of the mobile device detected by a gyroscope, wherein a speed of the navigating is based on a combination of an angle of rotation of the mobile device and a speed of rotation of the mobile device, detected by the gyroscope, as the one or more tilting operations.
20 . The mobile device of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:
