Abstract

A receipt data processing device includes a data generating section, an output section, and a converting section. The data generating section is configured to generate receipt data of a first data format including information about an item purchased by a customer. The output section is configured to output the receipt data to at least one of a printing device and an external device that is different from the printing device. The converting section is configured to convert a data format of the receipt data from the first data format to a second data format that is different from the first data format when the receipt data is output to the external device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A server, comprising:
a communication interface; a storage device; and a processing device configured to control operations of the communication interface and the storage device, wherein when the communication interface receives, over a computer network, receipt data that are in a structured data format and include, as structured elements of the receipt data, information about one or more items purchased by a customer in a transaction and a customer identifier of the customer, the processing device stores the receipt data in the storage device, and when the communication interface receives, over a computer network, a receipt request including the customer identifier from a computing device, the processing device controls the communication interface to return one or more units of receipt data in the structured data format stored in the storage device, each unit of the receipt data including the customer identifier, to the computing device.

2 . The server according to claim 1 , wherein the structured data format is XML format or CSV format.

3 . A method for processing receipt data, comprising:
each time a unit of receipt data that are in a structured data format and include, as structured elements of the receipt data, information about one or more items purchased by a customer in a transaction and a customer identifier of the customer are received by a communication interface over a computer network, storing the receipt data in a storage device; and in response to a receipt request including the customer identifier from a computing device is received by the communication interface over a computer network, returning one or more units of receipt data in the structured data format stored in the storage device, each unit of the receipt data including the customer identifier, to the computing device.

4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the structured data format is XML format or CSV format.

5 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising a program that is executable in a server to cause the server to perform a method comprising:
each time a unit of receipt data that are in a structured data format and include, as structured elements of the receipt data, information about one or more items purchased by a customer in a transaction and a customer identifier of the customer are received by a communication interface over a computer network, storing the receipt data in a storage device; and in response to a receipt request including the customer identifier from a computing device is received by the communication interface over a computer network, returning one or more units of receipt data in the structured data format stored in the storage device, each unit of the receipt data including the customer identifier, to the computing device.

6 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 5 , wherein the structured data format is XML format or CSV format.
