Claims

Abstract

A dynamic sound file generation system and method for using same is provided. The system is comprised of a controller, a plurality of databases, a rules engine, a control DSP module, and a combiner to alter and combine audio tracks into an output file. The sound file generation system may apply rules to dynamically generate audio files. The audio file generation system may advantageously and automatically create original, on-demand custom media file content by mixing and layering multiple media file sources from a source library to create a single composite file for delivery to a client device.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An audio file generating system comprising:
 a controller configured to communicate with a client device;   one or more databases in communication with a database server configured to communicate with the controller;   wherein at least one of the one or more databases is a remote database;   wherein the database server is configured to communicate with the remote database across a network; and   wherein the one or more databases includes a tracks database having one or more tracks, a rules database having one or more rules, a control digital signal processing modules database having one or more control digital signal processing modules, and an output files database.   
     
     
         2 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein the controller is configured to communicate with the client device across a network. 
     
     
         3 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein each track comprises one or more channels. 
     
     
         4 . A system according to  claim 3  wherein each channel may be manipulated independently of each other channel. 
     
     
         5 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein each track comprises one or more segments. 
     
     
         6 . A system according to  claim 5  wherein each segment may be manipulated independently of each other segment. 
     
     
         7 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein the tracks database includes at least two tracks, and wherein the controller creates a master track comprising tracks selected from the at least two tracks. 
     
     
         8 . A system according to  claim 7  wherein each of the tracks of the master track may be manipulated independently of each other track of the master track. 
     
     
         9 . A system according to  claim 7  wherein each of the tracks of the master track may be simultaneously manipulated as one logical track. 
     
     
         10 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein the control digital signal processing modules database has stored therein at least one control digital signal processing module, and wherein the control digital signal processing module performs a digital signal processing effect on a track. 
     
     
         11 . A system according to  claim 10  wherein the digital signal processing effect is selected from the group consisting of time shifting, equalization, filtering, noise cancellation, echo, reverb, removal, addition, modulation, panning, relative volume, absolute volume, and beat matching. 
     
     
         12 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein the output files database includes an output file comprising a modified track, and wherein the output file is accessible by the client device. 
     
     
         13 . A system according to  claim 1  further comprising a web server configured to communicate with the client device, and wherein an output file stored on the web server is accessible by the client device. 
     
     
         14 . A system according to  claim 1  wherein the client device includes a user interface configured to communicate with the controller, and wherein the user interface includes at least one field and at least one operator. 
     
     
         15 . A system according to  claim 14  wherein the user interface is configured to permit a user to define a rule, creating a user defined rule. 
     
     
         16 . A system according to  claim 15  wherein the user defined rule is stored on the rules database, and wherein the user defined rule is accessible by other users. 
     
     
         17 . A system according to  claim 16  wherein the user defined rule stored on the rules database may be edited by the user or other users. 
     
     
         18 . A system according to  claim 1  further comprising an external service, wherein the controller receives information related to an intended recipient of an output file; wherein the controller transmits the information related to the intended recipient of the output file to the external service; and wherein the controller receives new information related to the intended recipient of the output file. 
     
     
         19 . A system according to  claim 18  wherein the new information related to the intended recipient of the output file is the geographic location of the intended recipient.
