Abstract

Some embodiments include a system, method, apparatus and means for managing information associated with risk. In some embodiments, information associated with risk is collected, analyzed, stored, and disseminated. According to some embodiments, the information associated with risk is utilized to identify risk.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 collecting, by a website extraction device, data packets from a plurality of sources;   determining, by a pre-tag filtering device, the data packets that are risk relevant data packets, wherein the risk relevant data packets include information that is relevant to risk;   filtering, by the pre-tag filtering device, the data packets that are not the risk relevant data packets; and   tagging, by an information tagging device, each of the risk relevant data packets with a risk relevancy metric, wherein the risk relevancy metric indicates a measure of relevance of the risk relevant data packet to risk.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein determining the data packets that are the risk relevant data packets comprises determining portions of the data packets that include information that is relevant to risk. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising tagging the portions of the risk relevant data packets with risk relevancy tags, wherein the risk relevancy tags indicate terms, phrases, or relationships between the terms that indicate a relevance to risk. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising tagging each portion of the risk relevant data packets with a risk relevancy score. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising determining the risk relevancy metric of the each of the risk relevant data packets based on the risk relevancy scores of the each portion of the each of the risk relevant data packets. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein determining the risk relevancy metric of the each of the risk relevant data packets comprises averaging the risk relevancy scores of the each of the portions of the each of the risk relevant data packets. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising removing, by a post-tag filtering device, the risk relevant data packets with the risk relevant metrics that are lower than a threshold. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of sources is a website, wherein the method further comprises:
 monitoring the website for the information that is relevant to risk; and   determining when the website has changed.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising:
 detecting a formatting change in the website by detecting a change in output quality or quantity of the information from the website; and   flagging the website for further inspection.   
     
     
         10 . A system comprising:
 a website extraction device operable to collect data packets from a plurality of sources;   a pre-tag filtering device operable to:
 determine the data packets that are risk relevant data packets, wherein the risk relevant data packets include information that is relevant to risk, and 
 filter the data packets that are not the risk relevant data packets; and 
   an information tagging device operable to tag each of the risk relevant data packets with a risk relevancy metric, wherein the risk relevancy metric indicates a measure of relevance of the risk relevant data packet to risk.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the pre-tag filtering device is operable to determine portions of the data packets that include the information that is relevant to risk in determining the data packets that are the risk relevant data packets. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the information tagging device is further operable to tag the portions of the risk relevant data packets with risk relevancy tags, wherein the risk relevancy tags indicate terms, phrases, or relationships between the terms that indicate a relevance to risk. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the information tagging device is further operable to tag each portion of the risk relevant data packets with a risk relevancy score. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the information tagging device is further operable to determine the risk relevancy metric of the each of the risk relevant data packets based on the risk relevancy scores of the each portion of the each of the risk relevant data packets. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the information tagging device determines the risk relevancy metric of the each of the risk relevant data packets by averaging the risk relevancy scores of the each of the portions of the each of the risk relevant data packets. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising a post-tag filtering device operable to remove the risk relevant data packets with the risk relevant metrics that are lower than a threshold. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein at least one of the plurality of sources is a website, wherein the system further comprises a website monitoring device operable to:
 monitor the website for information that is relevant to risk, and   determine when the website has changed.   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the website monitoring device is further operable to:
 detect a formatting change in the website by detecting a change in output quality or quantity of the information from the website; and   flag the website for further inspection.   
     
     
         19 . A method comprising:
 collecting, by a website extraction device, data packets from a plurality of sources;   determining, by a pre-tag filtering device, the data packets that are risk relevant data packets, wherein the risk relevant data packets include information that is relevant to risk;   filtering, by the pre-tag filtering device, the data packets that are not the risk relevant data packets; and   tagging, by an information tagging device, portions of each of the risk relevant data packets with a risk relevancy score, wherein the risk relevancy score indicates a measure of relevance of the portion of the risk relevant data packet to risk.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , further comprising:
 determining a total risk relevancy score for each of the risk relevant data packets; and   tagging the each of the risk relevant data packets with the risk relevancy score.
