Abstract

A practice proxy bovine roping apparatus is described. The device is configured to move in a similar fashion to that of a conventional live cow or bull when running. The device is equipped with a hitch attachment, facilitating connection of the device to the rear of a vehicle such as an All-Terrain Vehicle. Attachment of the device to a vehicle provides a means of movement and power for the device, allowing for the device to be towed behind the vehicle while an individual attempts to rope the device with a lariat from horseback. The device is equipped with a wheeled sled, configured to be towed behind the vehicle. A head of the practice device is configured to release the device from the hitch attachment when successfully roped.

         2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
 horns, and   wherein said horns are disposed on said proxy bovine head;

         3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said sled is composed of steel.

         4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said attachment hitch is configured to be attached to a motor vehicle.

         5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said proxy bovine legs, said proxy bovine neck, and proxy bovine body are composed of fiberglass.

         6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first pulley, said first pulley disposed at an axel; a second pulley, said second pulley disposed within said proxy bovine body; at least one belt, said at least one belt in communication with said first pulley and said second pulley; wherein said second pulley is driven by said first pulley via said axle; a second bracket; a third bracket; a primary shaft, said primary shaft in communication with said proxy bovine legs; wherein said second pulley is in communication with said second bracket and said third bracket; a head-motion shaft, said head-motion shaft disposed within said proxy bovine head; wherein said head-motion shaft conveys oscillating motion to said proxy bovine head; and wherein said proxy bovine body is configured to move similar to an authentic bovine animal upon movement of said wheels.

         7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , further comprising:
 a steel rope; and wherein said steel rope conveys motion to release said pin when said proxy bovine head is roped.

         8 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein said sled is composed of steel.

         9 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein said attachment hitch is configured to be attached to a motor vehicle.

         10 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein said proxy bovine legs, said proxy bovine neck, and proxy bovine body are composed of fiberglass.

         11 . A proxy bovine roping practice apparatus comprising:
 a proxy bovine head; a proxy bovine body; a proxy bovine neck; a sled, said sled having a frame; wherein said frame has a front end and a rear end; wheels, said wheels supported by axels; wherein said sled is supported by said wheels; wherein said axels are in communication with said sled; an attachment hitch, said attachment hitch disposed at a front of said sled; proxy bovine legs, said proxy bovine legs in communication with said rear end; a roping release mechanism, said roping release mechanism has a first bracket; wherein said proxy bovine head is in communication with said first bracket; wherein said proxy bovine legs, said proxy bovine neck, and proxy bovine body are supported by said frame of said sled; a first pulley, said first pulley disposed at an axel; a second pulley, said second pulley disposed within said proxy bovine body; at least one belt, said at least one belt in communication with said first pulley and said second pulley; wherein said second pulley is driven by said first pulley via said axle; a second bracket; a third bracket; a primary shaft, said primary shaft in communication with said proxy bovine legs; wherein said second pulley is in communication with said second bracket and said third bracket; a head-motion shaft, said head-motion shaft disposed within said proxy bovine head; wherein said head-motion shaft conveys oscillating motion to said proxy bovine head; wherein said proxy bovine body is configured to move similar to an authentic bovine animal upon movement of said wheels; a pin, said pin in communication with said first bracket and said attachment hitch; wherein said attachment hitch is configured to detach upon removal of said pin; a leg joint, said leg joint housed within said proxy bovine legs; wherein said proxy bovine legs are configured to oscillate via said leg joint and said second pulley during movement of said wheels; and wherein said pin is configured to be removed when the proxy bovine head is roped.
