Access devices and related methods of use
Abstract
A system for accessing a patient's body may include an elongate member having a proximal end, a distal end, and two lumens. The elongate member may include two lumens and a thickness of material extending between external and internal surfaces of the elongate member. The system may also include a first illumination device associated with a first of the two lumens such that a portion of the first illumination device may extend into the thickness of material. A second illumination device may be associated with the second of the two lumens such that a portion of the second illumination device may extend into the thickness of material. Further, the system may include an imaging device having a first portion extending into the thickness of material, a second portion protruding into the first of the two lumens, and a third potion protruding into the second of the two lumens.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 16 . (canceled)
17 . A device the device comprising:
an elongate member having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween, wherein the lumen is defined by an internal wall of the elongate member; a mounting mechanism disposed along a length of a portion of the internal wall; a visualization component configured to be removably inserted into the lumen, the visualization component including a mounting attachment configured to releasably couple with the mounting mechanism.
18 . The device of claim 17 , wherein the elongate member includes a steerable access sheath.
19 . The device of claim 17 , wherein the visualization component includes a camera and a light source.
20 . The device of claim 17 , wherein the mounting mechanism includes one of rails and a magnet.
21 . The device of claim 17 , wherein the mounting attachment includes one of grooves, projections, or metallic material.
22 . The device of claim 17 , wherein an exterior circumferential surface of the visualization component located 180° away from the mounting attachment about the exterior circumferential surface is radially spaced from the internal wall of the elongate member.
23 . A device, comprising:
an elongate member having a radially interior surface, a radially exterior surface, a wall thickness extending between the radially interior surface and the radially exterior surface, a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end towards the distal end; a mounting mechanism disposed along the radially interior surface of the elongate member; a visualization component axially moveable along the mounting mechanism, the visualization component including a mounting attachment having a first state coupled to the mounting mechanism and a second state uncoupled to the mounting mechanism.
24 . The device of claim 23 , wherein the mounting mechanism includes rails.
25 . The device of claim 23 , wherein the mounting mechanism includes a magnet.
26 . The device of claim 24 , wherein the mounting attachment includes one of grooves or projections.
27 . The device of claim 25 , wherein the mounting attachment includes metallic material.
28 . The device of claim 23 , wherein the wall thickness extending between the radially interior surface and the radially exterior surface varies about the circumference of the elongate member.
29 . The device of claim 28 , wherein the wall thickness adjacent the mounting component is thinner than a remainder of the wall thickness about the circumference of the elongate member.
30 . The device of claim 29 , wherein, when in the first state, an exterior circumferential surface of the visualization component opposite of the mounting attachment is spaced from the radially interior surface of the elongate member.
31 . A device, comprising:
an elongate member having a radially interior-most surface, a radially exterior-most surface, a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end towards the distal end; a mounting mechanism positioned between the radially interior-most surface and the radially exterior-most surface; and a visualization component axially moveable along the mounting mechanism within the lumen, the visualization component including a mounting attachment having a first state coupled to the mounting mechanism and a second state uncoupled to the mounting mechanism, wherein, when in the first state, an exterior circumferential surface of the visualization component opposite of the mounting attachment is spaced from the radially interior-most surface of the elongate member.
32 . The device of claim 31 , wherein the mounting mechanism includes rails.
33 . The device of claim 31 , wherein the mounting mechanism includes a magnet.
34 . The device of claim 32 , wherein the mounting attachment includes one of grooves or projections.
35 . The device of claim 33 , wherein the mounting attachment includes metallic material.
36 . The device of claim 31 , wherein the mounting mechanism and mounting attachment include a snap fit or threaded connection.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
