Cufflinks Attachment System
Abstract
A cufflinks attachment system for easily and efficiently attaching cufflinks to a shirt cuff. The cufflinks attachment system generally includes a cufflink and a pulling device that removably connects to the cufflink to pull the cufflink through the openings of a shirt cuff. The cufflink includes a first catch member, a second catch member and a connector attached between the catch members. The second catch member includes at least one opening. The pulling device includes a handle and a hook attached to the handle. The user inserts the pulling device through the openings in the shirt cuff, inserts the hook through an opening in the second catch member and then pulls a portion of the cufflink through the openings in the shirt cuff.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe invention claimed is:
1 . A method of attaching a cufflink to a shirt cuff, comprising:
providing a shirt having a shirt cuff, wherein said shirt cuff includes a first distal end, a first opening within said shirt cuff near said first distal end, a second distal end opposite of said first distal end, and a second opening within said shirt cuff near said second distal end; providing a cufflink having a first catch member, a connector attached to said first catch member, and a second catch member attached to said connector opposite of said first catch member; providing a pulling device having a handle and a hook attached to the handle; connecting said pulling device in a removable manner to said cufflink; and pulling said pulling device along with at least a portion of said cufflink through said first opening and said second opening of said shirt cuff.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said first catch member includes an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein said inner surface is attached to said connector.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said first catch member has a size larger than said openings within said shirt cuff.
4 . The method of claim 1 , including the step of removing said hook from said first aperture.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said second catch member includes a first aperture.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein said step of connecting said pulling device includes the step of inserting said hook through said first aperture of said second catch member.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein said second catch member includes a second aperture, wherein said first aperture is near a first end of said second catch member and wherein said second aperture is near a second end of said second catch member.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein said step of connecting said pulling device includes inserting said hook through said first aperture or said second aperture of said second catch member.
9 . A method of attaching a cufflink to a shirt cuff, comprising:
providing a shirt having a shirt cuff, wherein said shirt cuff includes a first distal end, a first opening within said shirt cuff near said first distal end, a second distal end opposite of said first distal end, and a second opening within said shirt cuff near said second distal end; providing a cufflink having a first catch member, a connector attached to said first catch member, and a second catch member pivotally attached to said connector opposite of said first catch member, wherein said second catch member is initially aligned with said connector in a release position; providing a pulling device having a handle and a hook attached to the handle; connecting said pulling device in a removable manner to said cufflink; pulling said pulling device along with at least a portion of said cufflink through said first opening and said second opening of said shirt cuff; and manipulating said second catch member into a secure position, wherein said second catch member is substantially transverse with respect to said connector when in said secure position.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein said first catch member includes an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein said inner surface is attached to said connector.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein said first catch member has a size larger than said openings within said shirt cuff.
12 . The method of claim 9 , including the step of removing said hook from said first aperture.
13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein said second catch member includes a first aperture.
14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein said step of connecting said pulling device includes the step of inserting said hook through said first aperture of said second catch member.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein said second catch member includes a second aperture, wherein said first aperture is near a first end of said second catch member and wherein said second aperture is near a second end of said second catch member.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein said step of connecting said pulling device includes inserting said hook through said first aperture or said second aperture of said second catch member.
17 . A method of attaching a cufflink to a shirt cuff, comprising:
providing a shirt having a shirt cuff, wherein said shirt cuff includes a first distal end, a first opening within said shirt cuff near said first distal end, a second distal end opposite of said first distal end, and a second opening within said shirt cuff near said second distal end; providing a cufflink having a first catch member, a connector attached to said first catch member, and a second catch member pivotally attached to said connector opposite of said first catch member, wherein said second catch member is initially aligned with said connector in a release position and wherein said second catch member includes at least one aperture; providing a pulling device having a handle and a hook attached to the handle; inserting said pulling device partially through said openings within said shirt cuff; connecting said pulling device in a removable manner to said cufflink by extending said hook through said at least one aperture within said second catch member; pulling said pulling device along with at least a portion of said cufflink through said first opening and said second opening of said shirt cuff such that said second catch member is completely pulled through said openings of said shirt cuff opposite of said first catch member; removing said pulling device from said second catch member by removing said hook from said at least one aperture; and manipulating said second catch member into a secure position, wherein said second catch member is substantially transverse with respect to said connector when in said secure position.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein said first catch member includes an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein said inner surface is attached to said connector.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein said first catch member has a size larger than said openings within said shirt cuff.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein said step of inserting said pulling device includes inserting either said hook or said handle through said openings within said shirt cuff.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
