Abstract

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and a device for generating a MAC CE in a carrier aggregation system, the method comprising: configuring a plurality of serving cells, wherein each of the plurality of serving cells respectively corresponds to a cell index; determining whether a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) includes four octets for a cell index field depending on a highest cell index among the cell indexes of the plurality of serving cells; and generating the MAC CE according to the determining.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein if the MAC CE is an Activation/Deactivation MAC control element, a cell index field_i indicates activation/deactivation status of a serving cell with SCellIndex_i.

6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the Activation/Deactivation MAC control element includes the four octets for the cell index field is identified by a MAC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) subheader with Logical Channel Identifier (LCID).

7 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein if the MAC CE is an Extended Power Headroom Report (PHR) MAC CE, a cell index field_i indicates presence of a Power Headroom (PH) field for a serving cell with ServCelllndex_i.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the plurality of serving cells are configured with an uplink.

9 . A method for a communication apparatus operating in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
configuring a plurality of serving cells, wherein each of the plurality of serving cells corresponds to a respective cell index; determining a size of a cell index field in a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) depending on a highest cell index among the plurality of serving cells; and generating the MAC CE according to the size of the cell index field.

10 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein the UE determines that the size of the cell index field is 1 byte if 0≦ the highest cell index ≦7, and
