System And Method For Transferring Playlists

Abstract

A method, computer program product and computing device for selecting at least one playlist for transfer, the at least one playlist being stored on a first personal media device. The at least one playlist is converted to a common format, thus generating a first common format playlist. Communication is established with a second personal media device. The first common format playlist is transferred to the second personal media device.

 obtaining, at least in part, user data via at least one handheld electronic device, the user data being capable of being used to generate, at least in part, user profile information of a user of the at least one handheld electronic device, the user profile information being capable of comprising user media content preference data and user identification-related information, the user identification-related information being capable of comprising, at least in part, user name information, user age-related information, user gender information, and user contact information;   the user profile information to be compared, at least in part, with other user profile information of another user of at least one other electronic device to determine, at least in part, whether the user of the at least one handheld electronic device and the another user of the at least one other electronic device have matching, at least in part, respective media content interests;   if the matching, at least in part, respective media content interests is determined, at least in part, to exist, providing at least one notification, at least in part, to the user of the at least one handheld electronic device that the matching, at least in part, respective content interests exists.   
     
     
         20 . The at least one computer readable medium of  claim 19 , wherein:
 the at least one handheld electronic device comprises flash storage that is capable of storing, at least in part, the instructions.

 the operations also comprise receiving user authorization to provide, at least in part, the user profile information of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the at least one other electronic device.

 the at least one notification is to be provided based at least in part upon proximity of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the another user of the at least one other electronic device.

 obtaining, at least in part, user data via at least one handheld electronic device, the user data being capable of being used to generate, at least in part, user profile information of a user of the at least one handheld electronic device, the user profile information being capable of comprising user media content preference data and user identification-related information, the user identification-related information being capable of comprising, at least in part, user name information, user age-related information, user gender information, and user contact information; 
 the user profile information to be compared, at least in part, with other user profile information of another user of at least one other electronic device to determine, at least in part, whether the user of the at least one handheld electronic device and the another user of the at least one other electronic device have matching, at least in part, respective media content interests; 
 if the matching, at least in part, respective media content interests is determined, at least in part, to exist, providing at least one notification, at least in part, to the user of the at least one handheld electronic device that the matching, at least in part, respective content interests exists.

 obtaining, at least in part, user data via at least one handheld electronic device, the user data being capable of being used to generate, at least in part, user profile information of a user of the at least one handheld electronic device, the user profile information being capable of comprising user media content preference data and user identification-related information, the user identification-related information being capable of comprising, at least in part, user name information, user age-related information, user gender information, and user contact information; 
 the user profile information to be compared, at least in part, with other user profile information of another user of at least one other electronic device to determine, at least in part, whether the user of the at least one handheld electronic device and the another user of the at least one other electronic device have matching, at least in part, respective media content interests; 
 if the matching, at least in part, respective media content interests is determined, at least in part, to exist, providing at least one notification, at least in part, to the user of the at least one handheld electronic device that the matching, at least in part, respective content interests exists.

         43 . A method using, at least in part, at least one handheld electronic device, the method comprising:
 obtaining, at least in part, user data via the at least one handheld electronic device, the user data being capable of being used to generate, at least in part, user profile information of a user of the at least one handheld electronic device, the user profile information being capable of comprising user media content preference data and user identification-related information, the user identification-related information being capable of comprising, at least in part, user name information, user age-related information, user gender information, and user contact information;   the user profile information to be compared, at least in part, with other user profile information of another user of at least one other electronic device to determine, at least in part, whether the user of the at least one handheld electronic device and the another user of the at least one other electronic device have matching, at least in part, respective media content interests;   if the matching, at least in part, respective media content interests is determined, at least in part, to exist, providing at least one notification, at least in part, to the user of the at least one handheld electronic device that the matching, at least in part, respective content interests exists.   
     
     
         44 . The method of  claim 43 , wherein:
 the at least one handheld electronic device comprises flash storage;   the method also comprises receiving user authorization to provide, at least in part, the user profile information of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the at least one other electronic device; and   the at least one notification is to be provided based at least in part upon proximity of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the another user of the at least one other electronic device.

 the at least one handheld electronic device is capable of, when the at least one handheld electronic device is in operation, wireless communication with at least one other electronic device;   the user contact information is capable of comprising, at least in part, user email address information, user telephone number information, and user instant messenger information;   the user media content preference data is capable of comprising, at least in part, artist information, genre information, rating information, replay information, last played information, and/or most recently added information.   
     
     
         46 . The method of  claim 43 , wherein:
 the user media content preference data comprises music preference data of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device;   the user profile information of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device is to be compared, at least in part, with the other user profile information of the another user of the at least one other electronic device at the at least one handheld electronic device;   the user profile information of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device is to be generated, at least in part, at the at least one handheld electronic device.   
     
     
         47 . At least one non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that when executed by at least one machine result in the at least one machine being capable of performing operations comprising:
 obtaining user data via at least one handheld electronic device, the user data being capable of being used to generate user profile information of a user of the at least one handheld electronic device, the user profile information being capable of comprising user media content preference data and user identification-related information, the user identification-related information being capable of comprising, at least in part, user name information, user age-related information, user gender information, and user contact information;   the user profile information to be compared with other user profile information of another user of at least one other electronic device to determine whether the user of the at least one handheld electronic device and the another user of the at least one other electronic device have matching respective media content interests;   if the matching respective media content interests is determined to exist, providing at least one notification to the user of the at least one handheld electronic device that the matching, at least in part, respective content interests exists.   
     
     
         48 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 47 , wherein:
 the at least one handheld electronic device comprises flash storage;   the operations also comprise receiving user authorization to provide, at least in part, the user profile information of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the at least one other electronic device; and   the at least one notification is to be provided based at least in part upon proximity of the user of the at least one handheld electronic device to the another user of the at least one other electronic device.
