Abstract
Described herein are techniques related to managing mobile applications (“apps”) of a mobile device based, at least in part, upon the determined location of the device. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 32 . (canceled)
33 . A mobile device comprising:
a location-detection component configured to determine a location of the mobile device; an app-management component configured to:
identify one or more applications (“apps”) that are associated with the determined location, wherein the applications are identified by contextual factors associated with the mobile device;
determine applicable apps of the one more apps based on a particular subset of contextual factors to be installed on the mobile device; and
automatically install one or more apps of the determined applicable apps.
34 . The mobile device of claim 33 wherein the app-management component is further configured to notify a user to install one or more apps of the determined applicable apps.
35 . The mobile device of claim 33 , wherein the app-management component is further configured to recommend apps.
36 . The mobile device of claim 33 wherein the app-management component is further configured to install, uninstall or update apps.
37 . The mobile device of claim 33 , wherein the app-management component is further configured to allow user control to manage apps.
38 . The mobile device of claim 33 further comprising a component to associate apps with user location or time frame.
39 . The mobile device of claim 33 , wherein the location of the mobile device is selected from a group consisting of a physical location, geo-location, and a logical location.
40 . The device of claim 33 , wherein the contextual factors is observed, measured, calculated, and/or determined data about the circumstances or facts of the mobile device.
41 . An apparatus to perform location-awareness and application selection and management comprising:
a component to detect a location of the apparatus; an analytics component to recommend one or more applications (“apps”) that are associated with the determined location based on contextual factors associated with the apparatus; a component to display a prompt to install one or more of the recommended apps on the apparatus.
42 . The method of claim 41 further comprising an application component to associate location with apps.
43 . The apparatus of claim 41 further comprising an application component to associate user time frame or user location with apps.
44 . The apparatus of claim 41 further comprising a component to provide a notification to a user to install an app.
45 . The apparatus of claim 41 further comprising the analytics component or an application component that further provides user control in managing apps.
46 . The apparatus of claim 41 further comprising an updating component to automatically update apps.
47 . The apparatus of claim 41 further comprising a component to uninstall apps that are determined to be not relevant the determined contextual factors.
48 . One or more computer-readable media with processor-executable instructions stored thereon which when executed by one or more processors cause performance of operations comprising:
determining a mobile device location; determining factors related to time and place of the mobile device; selecting one or more applications (“apps”) that are associated with the determined location and with one or more determined factors; providing a change in use for the one or more of the selected apps.
49 . The computer-readable media of claim 48 further comprising providing changes to the apps based on the determined factors
50 . The computer-readable media of claim 48 further comprising notifying a user to install an app.
51 . The computer-readable media of claim 48 further comprising associating factors to apps.
52 . The computer-readable media of claim 48 further comprising updating automatically the one or more apps.
53 . The computer-readable media of claim 48 further comprising recommending apps to be installed by user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
