Oral composition for tooth whitening product, and kit comprising same

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition that acts prior to the action of a tooth whitening composition or tooth whitening patch, the composition containing an oral cavity stimulation alleviating component able to reduce stimulation by the tooth whitening composition or patch. The present invention also relates to a tooth whitening kit whereby oral cavity stimulation is alleviated. The composition that acts prior to the action of a tooth whitening composition or patch of the present invention provides an outstanding tooth whitening effect while alleviating pain by mitigating intra-oral stimulation brought about by the rapid action of a tooth whitening component due to a tooth whitening component active agent.

1 . A kit for tooth whitening, comprising:
 a first agent containing an oral irritation mitigating ingredient; and   a second agent containing a tooth whitening ingredient.   
     
     
         2 . The kit according to  claim 1 , wherein the first agent comprises an oral irritation mitigating ingredient and a tooth whitening ingredient activator. 
     
     
         3 . The kit according to  claim 1 , wherein the oral irritation mitigating ingredient is at least one selected from the group consisting of:
 amino acids including methionine, cysteine and taurine;   organic acids including ursodeoxycholic acid and tauroursodeoxycholic acid; and   vitamins including vitamins A, C and E.   
     
     
         4 . The kit according to  claim 3 , wherein the oral irritation mitigating ingredient is taurine. 
     
     
         5 . The kit according to  claim 1 , wherein the tooth whitening ingredient is at least one selected from hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide, calcium peroxide, tetrasodium pyrophosphate peroxidate, sodium bicarbonate and a chloride-based bleaching agent. 
     
     
         6 . The kit according to  claim 2 , wherein the tooth whitening ingredient activator is at least one selected from divalent or trivalent metal catalyst, a pH adjuster or mixtures thereof. 
     
     
         7 . The kit according to  claim 1 , wherein the oral irritation mitigating ingredient is present in an amount of 0.001 wt % to 10 wt % per the total weight of the first agent. 
     
     
         8 . The kit according to  claim 1 , wherein the first agent is in gel formulation, and the second agent is in patch form. 
     
     
         9 . A composition for mitigating oral irritation of a tooth whitening product, the composition comprising:
 as an active ingredient for mitigating the oral irritation of the tooth whitening product, at least one selected from the group consisting of:   amino acids including methionine, cysteine and taurine;   organic acids including ursodeoxycholic acid and tauroursodeoxycholic acid; and   vitamins including vitamins A, C and E.   
     
     
         10 . The composition according to  claim 9 , wherein the composition further comprises a tooth whitening ingredient activator. 
     
     
         11 . The composition according to  claim 10 , wherein the tooth whitening ingredient activator is at least one selected from a divalent or trivalent metal catalyst, a pH adjuster or mixtures thereof. 
     
     
         12 . The composition according to  claim 9 , wherein the composition comprises taurine as an active ingredient. 
     
     
         13 . The composition according to  claim 9 , wherein the composition is applied before the application of the tooth whitening product. 
     
     
         14 . The composition according to  claim 9 , wherein the oral irritation mitigating ingredient is present in an amount of 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % per the total weight of the composition. 
     
     
         15 . A method for enhancing a tooth whitening effect of a composition or patch for tooth whitening containing peroxide, the method comprising: applying a pretreatment composition to tooth surface before the use of the composition or patch for tooth whitening,
 wherein the pretreatment composition contains a metal salt catalyst which releases a trivalent metal ion in an aqueous solution state.   
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 15 , wherein the metal salt catalyst is iron (III) chloride. 
     
     
         17 . A kit for tooth whitening, comprising:
 (a) a composition containing a metal salt catalyst which releases a trivalent metal ion in an aqueous solution state; and   (b) a composition or patch for tooth whitening containing peroxide wherein the composition or patch comes into contact with said composition.   
     
     
         18 . The kit according to  claim 17 , wherein the kit further comprises a means for applying the composition containing the metal salt catalyst to tooth surface. 
     
     
         19 . The kit according to  claim 17 , wherein the metal salt catalyst is iron (III) chloride. 
     
     
         20 . The kit according to  claim 17 , wherein the peroxide is at least one selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide, calcium peroxide, sodium percarbonate, sodium perborate, and tetrasodium pyrophosphate peroxidate.
