Abstract

The invention relates to the use as a deodorant agent of a compound or a mixture of compounds having formula (II): where R denotes a saturated or unsaturated linear or branched hydrocarbon radical comprising from 12 to 20 carbon atoms, where said radical R may comprise one or a plurality of ethylene unsaturations and Cat+ represents a cation or a mixture of cations, organic or inorganic, optionally being + or 2+, independently of the cationic charge and suitable for obtaining electroneutrality of formula (II) along with compositions containing same in a physiologically acceptable medium in association with at least one deodorant agent and/or one antiperspirant agent. The invention also relates to novel compounds and compositions containing same in a physiologically acceptable medium. The invention also relates to a method for treating body odor.

1 . A cosmetic method for treating body odor which comprises applying on the surface of a human keratin material at least one compound or mixture of compounds having formula (II): 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         where R denotes a saturated or unsaturated linear or branched hydrocarbon radical comprising from 12 to 20 carbon atoms, where said radical R may comprise one or a plurality of ethylene unsaturations (of the double bond type) and 
         Cat+ represents a cation or a mixture of cations, organic or inorganic, suitable for obtaining electroneutrality of the compound or mixture of compounds having formula (II). 
       
     
     
         2 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein R denotes a linear or branched hydrocarbon radical comprising from 12 to 18 carbon atoms (C 12 -C 18 ), and optionally containing one or a plurality of ethylene unsaturations. 
     
     
         3 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the inorganic cation Cat+ is chosen from alkaline metals, alkaline-earth metals, transition metals;   the organic cation Cat+ is chosen from the cationic form of an amine or a quaternary ammonium.   
     
     
         4 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein the organic Cat+ is the cationic form of an L or D form amino acid or a quaternary ammonium N + R 1 R 2 R 3 -L-CO 2 H, where R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , identical or different, denote a linear saturated alkyl radical comprising 1 to 12 carbon atoms and L denotes a divalent saturated hydrocarbon radical comprising 2 to 6 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         5 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 3 , wherein Cat+ represents Na+. 
     
     
         6 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 3 , wherein Cat+ is the cationic form of lysine. 
     
     
         7 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein a mixture of at least 4 compounds having formula (II), denoted compounds (IIA), (IIB) (IIC), (IID), is used, wherein:
 the radicals R of each of the compounds (IIA), (IIB), (IIC), (IID) denote a linear hydrocarbon radical comprising from 12 to 18 carbon atoms:   the compound (IIA), having a saturated radical R; and   the compound (IIB), having a mono-unsaturated radical R; and   the compound (IIC), having a di-unsaturated radical R; and   the compound (IID), having a tri-unsaturated radical R; and   Cat+ having the same meaning for each of the compounds (IIA), (IIB) (IIC), (IID).   
     
     
         8 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 7 , wherein a mixture of the compounds (IIA), (IIB), (IIC), (IID) is used, wherein:
 the proportion of compound (IIA), varies from 0.001 to 5%,   the proportion of compound (IIB) varies from 20 to 45%,   the proportion of compound (IIC) varies from 5 to 35%,   the proportion of compound (IID) varies from 25 to 50%, the percentages being by mass in relation to the total mass of the mixture of compounds (IIA), (IIB) (IIC) and (IID).   
     
     
         9 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 7 , wherein a mixture of the compounds (IIA), (IIB), (IIC), (IID) is used, wherein R denotes a hydrocarbon radical having 15 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         10 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound having formula (II) is chosen from the following compounds (A), (B), (C) and (D), alone or in a mixture:

The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein the compound having formula (II) is chosen from the following compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, alone or in a mixture: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
     
     
         12 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 11 , wherein the compound having formula (II) is chosen from the following mixtures:
 (i) a mixture comprising 5% by mass of compound 1, 35% of compound 2, 23% by mass of compound 3 and 37% of compound 4;   (ii) a mixture comprising 5% by mass of compound 5, 35% of compound 6, 23% by mass of compound 7 and 37% of compound 8.   
     
     
         13 . Compound complying with any of the following formulae (IV) and (V) along with the tautomeric forms thereof, the optical isomers thereof, the geometric isomers thereof and the solvates thereof: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       where R denotes a linear or branched hydrocarbon radical having from 12 to 20 carbon atoms (C 12 -C 20 ), that is saturated or unsaturated and
 Orga+ represents an organic cation chosen from the cationic form of mono-ethanolamine, hexadecylamine, N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis-(hydroxy-propyl-2)ethylene di-amine, tris-hydroxymethyl aminomethane, alanine or tryptophan; a quaternary ammonium N + R 1 R 2 R 3 -L-CO 2 H, where R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , identical or different, denote a linear saturated alkyl radical comprising from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and L denotes a divalent saturated linear hydrocarbon radical comprising from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; 
 Inorga+ represents strontium (Sr 2+ ). 
 
     
     
         14 . Compound according to  claim 13  chosen from the following compounds (A′), (B′), (C′), (D′), (A″), (B″), (C″) (D″) along with the mixtures thereof: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
     
     
         15 . Composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least one compound or a mixture of compounds having formula (IV) or (V) or any of the tautomeric forms thereof, the optical isomers thereof, the geometric isomers thereof or the solvates thereof, as defined in  claim 13 . 
     
     
         16 . Composition comprising in a physiologically acceptable medium:
 i) at least one compound or a mixture of compounds having formula (II) or any of the tautomeric forms thereof, the optical isomers thereof, the geometric isomers thereof or the solvates thereof, as defined according to  claim 1 ,   ii) at least one antiperspirant agent and/or at least one further deodorant agent.   
     
     
         17 . Aerosol device consisting of:
 (A) at least one container comprising a composition as defined according to  claim 15     (B) at least one propellant and at least one means for dispensing said composition in aerosol form.   
     
     
         18 - Cosmetic method for treating body odor which comprises applying on the surface of a human keratin material a composition according to  claim 15 . 
     
     
         19 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the inorganic cation Cat+ is chosen from alkaline metals, alkaline-earth metals, transition metals;   the organic cation Cat+ is chosen from the cationic form of an amine or a quaternary ammonium.   
     
     
         20 . The cosmetic method according to  claim 1 , which comprises applying said at least one compound or mixture of compounds to the underarms of a human.
