Abstract

An adjustable brim boonie hat for enabling a user to selectively configure it as a boonie hat or a tricorne style hat comprises a hat base having a crown section with three fastener base members attached thereto in distinct locations and a fastening surface disposed thereon and a bendable brim section with three fastener attaching members permanently attached thereto, each in a location that corresponds to one of said fastener base members. The adjustable brim boonie hat is generally similar to that of a convention conventional boonie hat. In addition to the boonie hat configuration, a tricorne style configuration is enabled through the positioning of the corresponding fastener members on the crown and brim. Accordingly, when the fastener attaching members are attached to their respective corresponding fastener base member, the brim of the adjustable brim boonie hat assumes the shape and style of a tricorne style hat.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An adjustable brim boonie hat, comprising:
hat base having a crown section and a brim section; said crown section having at least one fastener base member disposed thereon; said brim section having a single fastener attaching member disposed thereon for each at least one fastener base member in a location that corresponds to one of said at least one fastener base member, thereby enabling the brim section to be removably attached against the crown section by placing the brim section against the crown section in a manner which causes the fastener attaching member to engage the fastener base member.

2 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 1 , wherein said crown section additionally includes a fastening surface is configured to enable the attachment of indicia bearing material to the crown section.

3 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 2 , wherein the fastening surface is defined by the hook portion of a conventional hook and loop fastener.

4 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 1 , wherein said crown section includes three fastener base member disposed in distinct locations thereon such that the engaging of each fastener attaching member with its corresponding fastener base member configures the adjustable brim boonie hat as a tricorne style hat.

5 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 1 , wherein each of said at least one fastener base member defines the male half of a snap fastener and each fastener attaching member defines the female half of a snap fastener.

6 . An adjustable brim boonie hat, comprising:
hat base having a crown section and a brim section; said crown section having three fastener base members disposed thereon in distinct locations; said brim section having three fastener attaching members, each in a location that corresponds to one of said at least one fastener base member and adapted to form a removable attachment therewith when engaged, thereby enabling the brim section to be removably attached against the crown section in three distinct locations so as to configure the adjustable brim boonie hat as a tricorne style hat.

7 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 6 , wherein said crown section additionally includes a fastening surface is configured to enable the attachment of indicia bearing material to the crown section.

8 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 7 , wherein the fastening surface is defined by the hook portion of a conventional hook and loop fastener.

9 . The adjustable brim boonie hat of claim 6 , wherein each of said at least one fastener base member defines the male half of a snap fastener and each fastener attaching member defines the female half of a snap fastener.
