Abstract

Disclosed herein is a method of water board propulsion comprising placing a buoyant board with a flexible water catching pocket having an open proximal end and at least a partially closed distal end affixed to a bottom surface of the water board in a current of water moving at a speed which is faster than the buoyant board; positioning said open proximal end to receive the flowing water; receiving water flow into the open proximal end; and, accelerating the board in the direction the current with greater acceleration than the same board without a water catching flexible pocket.

         21 . A flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board comprising:
 a substantially flat frame;   a mounting means on a portion of the frame whereby the frame can be affix to a waterboard;   at least one pocket having an upper boundary defined by the frame, two flexible pocket sides, a pocket bottom section formed of a flexible material, a distal end that is affixed to the frame and a proximal end that is unattached to the frame, such that opening of the proximal end is larger than the opening of the distal end; and,   at least one opening limiter having a first interface adjacent to the frame and a second opening limiter adjacent to the bottom of the flexible pocket.   
     
     
         22 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  1  wherein at least a portion of the pocket bottom is semi-rigid. 
     
     
         23 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  1  wherein the pocket bottom is more rigid than the pocket sides. 
     
     
         24 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  1  wherein the at least one pocket is affixed to a waterboard post production. 
     
     
         25 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  1  wherein the mounting means is an adhesive. 
     
     
         26 . A flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board comprising:
 a substantially flat frame;   a series of mounting guides through a portion of the frame whereby the frame can be affix to a waterboard;   at least one pocket body having an upper boundary defined by the frame, two flexible pocket sides, a pocket bottom section formed of a flexible material, a distal end that is affixed to the frame and a proximal end that is unattached to the frame, such that opening of the proximal end is larger than the opening of the distal end; and,   at least one opening limiter having a first interface adjacent to the frame and a second opening limiter adjacent to the bottom of the flexible pocket.   
     
     
         27 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  6  wherein at least a portion of the pocket bottom is semi-rigid. 
     
     
         28 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  6  wherein the pocket bottom is more rigid than the pocket sides. 
     
     
         29 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  1  wherein the at least one pocket is affixed to a waterboard post production with at least fasteners which extend through the waterboard. 
     
     
         30 . The flexible propulsion attachment for a buoyant core water board of claim  9  further comprising adhesive between the frame and bottom of a waterboard.
