Electronic apparatus and method for executing application thereof

Abstract

The disclosure relates to a method for executing an electronic apparatus application comprising the steps of: generating on a screen a keyboard interface including a virtual input keypad and an output region in response to a first user input; receiving a second user input using the virtual input keypad of the keyboard interface and displaying the same on the output region; determining a data attribute of the second user input; displaying a menu including one or more applications corresponding to the data attribute; and receiving a third user input selecting one of the one or more applications included in the menu and executing the selected application. In addition, various different embodiments are possible.

1 . A method of executing applications in an electronic device comprising:
 creating, on a touch-screen, a keyboard interface including a virtual input keypad and an output area in response to a first user input;   receiving a second user input via the virtual input keypad, and displaying the second user input on the output area;   determining a data attribute of the second user input;   displaying a menu including one or more applications corresponding to the data attribute; and   receiving a third user input selecting one of the one or more applications included in the menu and executing the selected application.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein creating a keyboard interface comprises:
 receiving a dragging-input by the first user input, starting from an edge of touch-screen; and   outputting the keyboard interface to at least part of the touch-screen in response to the dragging-input.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein creating a keyboard interface comprises:
 displaying one or more applications that have recently been used on the output area.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein displaying the second user input comprises:
 searching for applications starting with the second user input, and displaying the searched applications on the output area.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein determining a data attribute comprises:
 determining the data attribute based on a type of text of the second user input.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein determining a data attribute comprises:
 determining whether the second user input corresponds to a name or a contact number contained in contact details stored in the electronic device.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein displaying a menu comprises:
 displaying the menu including a call application and/or a message application when the second user input corresponds to a name or a contact number contained in contact details.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 when the second user input corresponds to part of the name or the contact number contained in contact details, displaying one or more of the following: a name, an image, and a contact number, related to the corresponding contact details.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 when the keyboard interface receives an input for switching the virtual input pad from a current keyboard layout to a numeric keyboard layout, displaying a call application menu.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 when the virtual input pad is switched from a current keyboard layout to a numeric keyboard layout, displaying contact details corresponding to numbers on the numeric keys of the virtual input pad which serve as speed dial numbers.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein displaying a menu comprises:
 displaying the menu which is substituted for one of the keys of the virtual input pad.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein receiving and displaying the second user input comprises:
 receiving an input for selecting part of an image displayed on the touch-screen;   recognizing an image selected by the input;   receiving the recognized image as the second user input; and   displaying the recognized image on the output area.   
     
     
         13 . An electronic device comprising:
 a touch-screen for receiving user inputs and displaying a keyboard interface including a virtual input keypad and an output area; and   a controller for controlling: the display of the keyboard interface in response to a first user input; the display of the second user input, received by via the virtual input keypad, on the output area; the determination of a data attribute of the second user input; the display of a menu including one or more applications corresponding to the data attribute; and the execution of an application selected by a third user input, from among the one or more applications included in the menu.   
     
     
         14 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein the touch-screen receives a dragging-input by the first user input, starting from an edge of touch-screen and outputs the keyboard interface to at least part of the touch-screen in response to the dragging-input. 
     
     
         15 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein, when the keyboard interface is displayed in response to the first user input, the controller displays one or more applications that have recently been used on the output area. 
     
     
         16 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein, when the second user input is received and displayed on the output area, the controller searches for applications starting with the second user input, and displays the searched applications on the output area. 
     
     
         17 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein the controller determines the data attribute based on a type of text of the second user input. 
     
     
         18 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , further comprising:
 a storage unit for storing contact details,   wherein the controller determines whether the second user input corresponds to a name or a contact number contained in the contact details.   
     
     
         19 . The electronic device of  claim 18 , wherein, when the second user input corresponds to a name or a contact number contained in the contact details, the controller controls the display of the menu including a call application and/or a message application. 
     
     
         20 . The electronic device of  claim 19 , wherein, when the second user input corresponds to part of the name or the contact number contained in the contact details, the controller controls the display of one or more of the following: a name, an image, and a contact number, related to the corresponding contact details. 
     
     
         21 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein, when the keyboard interface receives an input for switching the virtual input pad from a current keyboard layout to a numeric keyboard layout, the controller controls the display of a call application menu. 
     
     
         22 . The electronic device of  claim 21 , wherein, when the virtual input pad is switched from a current keyboard layout to a numeric keyboard layout, the controller controls the display of contact details corresponding to numbers on the numeric keys of the virtual input pad which serve as speed dial numbers. 
     
     
         23 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein the touch-screen displays the menu which is substituted for one of the keys of the virtual input pad. 
     
     
         24 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein the controller: receives an input for selecting part of an image displayed on the touch-screen; recognizes an image selected by the input; receives the recognized image as the second user input; and displays the recognized image on the output area.
