         23 . A method of treating opioid dependency in a patient, said method comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of 1,1-(3-dimethylamino-3-phenylpenta-methylene)-6-fluoro-1,3,4,9-tetrahydropyrano[3,4-b]indole in the form of the non-polar diastereomer of the free base. 
     
     
         24 . The method according to  claim 23 , wherein the opioid dependency is heroin, morphine or methadone dependency. 
     
     
         25 . The method according to  claim 23 , wherein 1,1-(3-dimethylamino-3-phenylpenta-methylene)-6-fluoro-1,3,4,9-tetrahydropyrano[3,4-b]indole is used in combination with naloxone.
