Abstract

Insecticide compositions which comprise one or not less than two kinds of compounds being selected from a compound represented by the formula [I]: or a salt thereof, and a neonicotinoid compound represented by the formula [II]: The insecticide compositions can produce higher insecticidal effects than would be expected when each of the active ingredients is used singly, namely a synergistic effect, thus enabling reductions in the rate or number of application of agrochemicals and pesticides to be realized.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An insecticide composition which comprises imidacloprid and at least one compound selected from compounds of the formula [I]:

         wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are the same or different, and each represent a hydrogen atom, a C 1-6 alkyl group, a C 1-6 haloalkyl group or a halogen atom; R 5 is a hydrogen atom or a C 1-6 alkyl group; X is CH or N; n is 0 to 3, or a salt thereof.

2 . The insecticide composition as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the compound of the formula [I] is a compound of the formula [Ia]:

         wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and X are as defined in claim 1 .

         3 . The insecticide composition as claimed in claim 2 , wherein in the compound of the formula [Ia], R 1 is a halogen atom or a C 1-6 haloalkyl group, R 2 is a halogen atom, R 3 and R 5 each are a C 1-6 alkyl group, R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, and X is N.

4 . The insecticide composition as claimed in claim 2 , wherein in the compound of the formula [Ia], R 1 is a chlorine or bromine atom, or a trifluoromethyl group, R 2 is a chlorine atom, R 3 is a methyl group, R 5 is an isopropyl group, R 4 is a hydrogen or chlorine atom, and X is N.

5 . The insecticide composition as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the compound of the formula [Ia] is selected from the group consisting of:
 2-[1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-trifluoromethylpyrazol-5-ylcarbonylamino]-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide, 5-chloro-2-[1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-trifluoromethyl-pyrazol-5-ylcarbonylamino]-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide, 2-[1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-chloropyrazol-5-ylcarbonylamino]-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide, 5-chloro-2-[1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-3-chloropyrazol-5-ylcarbonylamino]-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide, 2-[3-bromo-1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-pyrazol-5-yl-carbonylamino]-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide, and 2-[3-bromo-1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-pyrazol-5-ylcarbonylamino]-5-chloro-N-isopropyl-3-methylbenzamide.

         6 - 7 . (canceled)

8 . A method for controlling an insect pest, which comprises applying the insecticide composition as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 to locations other than the site where the insect pest inflicts injuries directly.

9 . A method for controlling an insect pest, comprising mixing imidacloprid and at least one compound of the formula [I] or a salt thereof as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 , followed by drenching onto a soil for raising seedlings in the form of a mixture solution or application on the soil for raising seedlings in the form of a mixture granule, during a period ranging from a sowing time to a seedling-planting time for a crop to be cultivated by a seedling-planting method.

10 . A method for controlling an insect pest, comprising growing seedlings with use of a soil for raising seedlings which has contained therein imidacloprid and at least one compound of the formula [I] or a salt thereof as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 , during a period ranging from a sowing time to a seedling-planting time for a crop to be cultivated by a seedling-planting method.

11 . A method for controlling an insect pest, comprising applying imidacloprid and at least one compound of the formula Ill or a salt thereof as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 , to a soil of a farm field through a drenching treatment, a planting-hole treatment, a planting-hole treated soil incorporation, a plant-root treatment or a plant-root treated soil incorporation during a period ranging from a seedling planting time to a vegetation period for a crop to be cultivated by a seedling-planting method.

12 . A method for controlling an insect pest, comprising effecting an immersion treatment, a dusting treatment or a coating treatment of a seed, a seed potato or a bulb with imidacloprid and at least one compound of the formula [I] or a salt thereof as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 , in the case of a crop to be grown by directly sowing or seeding the seed, the seed potato or the bulb on a farm field.

13 . A method for controlling an insect pest, comprising treating a soil of a farm field with imidacloprid and at least one compound of the formula [I] or a salt thereof as claimed in any one of claim 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 , through a drenching treatment, a plant-root treatment or a plant-root treated soil incorporation during a vegetation period for a crop to be cultivated by directly sowing or seeding a seed, a seed potato or a bulb on the farm field.
