Abstract
The present invention provides a cover for use with a lacrosse stick that specifically interacts with the net of the lacrosse head to protect the net and the pocket from the environment and selectively maintain a certain shape or contour of the pocket. The pocket retainer is a component that may be selectively positioned within the cover and thereby retains the contour of the net particular to the lacrosse player.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A kit comprising a device for use in combination with a lacrosse head and a net assembly atttached to the lacrosse head, wherein the net assembly defines a concave ball-receiving surface, comprising:
a lacrosse head cover, sized to enclose the lacrosse head, comprising a first surface; and a first retaining element, attachable to the first surface and comprising a first convex surface that is coextensive with at least a portion of the concave ball-receiving surface, wherein the first retaining element is adapted to be adjustably attached to the first surface, and a second retaining element, attachable to the first surface and comprising a second convex surface that is coextensive with at least a portion of the concave ball-receiving surface, wherein the second retaining element is adapted to be adjustably attached to the first surface.
2 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein the first convex surface is different from the second convex surface.
3 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein at least the first or second retaining elements is ball-shaped having the substantial dimensions of a lacrosse ball.
4 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein the lacrosse head cover comprises fastening means for securing together first and second portions of the lacrosse head cover.
5 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein the lacrosse head cover further comprises an opening for a lacrosse stick.
6 . The device of claim 4 , wherein the fastening means is adapted to unfasten the first and second portions for insertion and removal of the lacrosse head.
7 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein the lacrosse head cover further comprises a hollow, sized and shaped to accommodate the concave ball-receiving surface.
8 . A kit comprising a lacrosse head, a net assembly attached to the lacrosse head, wherein the net assembly defines a concave ball-receiving surface, and a lacrosse head cover, sized to enclose the lacrosse head, comprising a first surface, the kit further comprising:
a first retaining element, attachable to the first surface and comprising a first convex surface that is coextensive with at least a portion of the concave ball-receiving surface, wherein the first retaining element is adapted to be adjustably attached to the first surface, and a second retaining element, attachable to the first surface and comprising a second convex surface that is coextensive with at least a portion of the concave ball-receiving surface, wherein the second retaining element is adapted to be adjustably attached to the first surface.
9 . The kit of claim 8 , wherein the first convex surface is different from the second convex surface.
10 . The kit of claim 8 , wherein at least the first or second retaining elements is ball-shaped having the substantial dimensions of a lacrosse ball.
11 . The kit of claim 8 , wherein the lacrosse head cover comprises fastening means for securing together first and second portions of the lacrosse head cover.
12 . The kit of claim 8 , wherein the lacrosse head cover further comprises an opening for a lacrosse stick.
13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the fastening means is adapted to unfasten the first and second portions for insertion and removal of the lacrosse head.
14 . The kit of claim 8 , wherein the lacrosse head cover further comprises a hollow, sized and shaped to accommodate the concave ball-receiving surface.
15 . The kit of claim 8 , further comprising a handle or shaft.
16 . The kit of claim 15 , wherein the handle or shaft is connected to the lacrosse head.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
