Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating sepsis or septic shock including a Mycobacterium tuberculosis -derived adenosine kinase (ADK) protein as an active ingredient. The Mycobacterium tuberculosis -derived ADK protein according to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention has an effect of inhibit binding between the LPS and cells by binding to LPS, and also has an excellent therapeutic effect against sepsis by enhancing viability in a sepsis animal model and suppressing inflammatory response in the lung and cell death in the spleen.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating sepsis or septic shock comprising an adenosine kinase (ADK) protein as an active ingredient.

2 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the ADK protein is derived from Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

3 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the ADK protein has an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1.

4 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the ADK protein is encoded by a DNA sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2.

5 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein the ADK protein binds to a lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

6 . A food composition for preventing or improving sepsis or septic shock comprising an ADK protein as an active ingredient.
