Abstract

A system and method for monitoring vehicles in a captured test fleet that includes: receiving a call at a service center from a vehicle in the captured test fleet, wherein the call is triggered based on a condition detected at the vehicle; establishing a connection between the service center and the vehicle via the call; requesting a vehicle data upload (VDU) from the vehicle via the call; completing the VDU at the service center, and storing data received from the VDU in a captured test fleet database that manages data for a plurality of vehicles included in the captured test fleet.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of monitoring vehicles in a captured test fleet, comprising the steps of:
 (a) receiving a call at a service center from a vehicle in the captured test fleet, wherein the call is triggered based on a condition detected at the vehicle; (b) establishing a connection between the service center and the vehicle via the call; (c) requesting a vehicle data upload (VDU) from the vehicle via the call; (d) completing the VDU at the service center; and (e) storing data received from the VDU in a captured test fleet database that manages data for a plurality of vehicles included in the captured test fleet.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of storing vehicle bus requests for the vehicle in the captured test fleet database.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of storing request responses for the vehicle in the captured test fleet database.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of configuring VDU functions in the vehicle via the call.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of marking a task update entry for the vehicle in the captured test fleet database.

6 . A method of monitoring vehicles in a captured test fleet, comprising the steps of:
 (a) receiving a request to access captured test fleet data from one or more vehicles in the captured test fleet; (b) accessing a database containing vehicles associated with the captured test fleet; (c) identifying, in the database, the vehicles within the captured test fleet that correspond to the request; (d) wirelessly transmitting a data retrieval request from the database to the identified vehicles; and (e) receiving the captured test fleet data at the database from the identified vehicles.

7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising the step of providing the database at a telematics service provider.

8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising the step of receiving the request from a vehicle design center.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the database identifies vehicles in the captured test fleet by one or more test fleet identifiers.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the test fleet identifiers further comprise a vehicle identification number (VIN), electronic serial number (ESN), system identification number (SID), or mobile identification number (MIN).

11 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the request identifies the vehicles by vehicle model.
