Abstract
An about ⅝ inch to ¾ inch thick low weight, low density gypsum panel with fire resistance capabilities sufficient to provide a Thermal Insulation Index of at least 17.0 minutes which when subjected to U419 test procedures will not fail for at least 30 minutes and, in selected embodiments, also has outstanding water resistance properties.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 12 . (canceled)
13 . A gypsum panel with a density of about 27 to about 37 pounds per cubic foot and a Thermal Insulation Index greater than 17.0 minutes comprising:
(a) about 1360-1460 lb/msf set gypsum; (b) about 1.5-1.8% by weight pregelatinized starch; (c) about 0.10-0.15% by weight phosphate; (d) about 0.75-1.0% by weight dispersant; (e) about 0.1-0.3% by weight mineral, glass or carbon fiber; and (f) foam voids in an amount effective to provide the specified panel density, wherein the percentages by weight are based on the weight of the set gypsum and the lb/msf values are for a nominally ⅝ inch thick panel and subject to proportional adjustment for thicker or thinner panels.
