Abstract
A fitness device includes a strap, a handle, and a plate. The strap is substantially inelastic and flexible. The plate is substantially rigid. The handle at least partially envelopes the strap.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of allowing a person to create consistent muscle resistance without the use of a spotter or heavy exercise equipment, the method comprising:
A. providing a strap comprising first and second ends and at least one loop proximal the first end of the strap, wherein the second end of the strap is distal to the first end of the strap; B. removably securing the second end of the strap to a fixed object, and C. creating muscle resistance by pulling the first end away from the second end by using the loop.
2 . A fitness device configured so the user can create internal muscle resistance without the use of a spotter or heavy exercise equipment while supplying the user a consistent resistance by orienting the body in a certain position while directing the location of a strap and handles with the user's body, the portable fitness device comprising:
A. a strap wherein the strap comprises a webbed strapping; and B. a plurality of handles, wherein the plurality of handles have a plurality of inner rails comprising webbed strapping.
3 . The fitness device according to claim 2 , further comprising a pull up bar, wherein
the strap is threaded through the pull up bar, and the plurality of handles are positioned at a first end of the pull up bar and a second end of the pull up bar.
4 . The fitness device according to claim 2 , further comprising a cushioned fulcrum, wherein the strap is threaded through the cushioned fulcrum.
5 . A fitness device comprising:
A. a strap, wherein the strap is substantially inelastic and flexible; B. a handle; and C. a plate, wherein the plate is substantially rigid, and the handle at least partially envelopes the strap.
6 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , wherein the handle is slideably adjustable along the strap.
7 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , comprising 2 to 6 handles.
8 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , further comprising a strap end at each end of the strap, wherein the strap end physically blocks the handle from sliding off of the strap.
9 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , wherein
the handle comprises a first grip portion and a second grip portion, and the handle folds such that the first grip portion contacts the second grip portion.
10 . (canceled)
11 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , wherein the plate comprises a reinforcing rib.
12 - 13 . (canceled)
14 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , further comprising a rail, wherein the rail is between the handle and the strap.
15 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , wherein the strap further comprises a loop.
16 . (canceled)
17 . The fitness device according to claim 5 , wherein the handle at least partially envelops the plate.
18 . (canceled)
19 . The fitness device according to claim 7 , further comprising a locking mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism affixes one handle to an adjacent handle.
20 . (canceled)
21 . The fitness device according to claim 14 , wherein the rail and the strap comprise the same material.
22 . The fitness device according to claim 19 , wherein the locking mechanism comprises a hook and loop fastener system.
23 . A method of exercising comprising:
A. providing a fitness device according to claim 5 ; B. securing a first portion of the fitness device to a body portion; C. securing a second portion of the fitness device to a location selected from the group consisting of a body part, a door, a fixed object, and combinations thereof; and D. exercising by moving the body portion such that muscle resistance is created.
24 . The method of exercising according to claim 23 , wherein the fitness device comprises 2 to 6 handles.
25 . The method of exercising according to claim 23 , further comprising folding the handle, wherein the folding occurs after A and prior to D.
26 . The method of exercising according to claim 23 , wherein the handle is slideably adjustable along the strap.
