Abstract

A basin assembly includes a sink that has a bottom wall and a perimeter wall that is attached to and extends upwardly from the bottom wall. A drain opening extends through the bottom wall. A drain conduit is fluidly coupled to the drain opening. A stopper assembly is mounted in the drain conduit. A grip is positioned on a basin shelf adjacent to the sink and the grip is vertically actuatable with respect to the basin shelf. A lift rod is attached to and extends downwardly from the grip. A pivot rod is mechanically coupled to the stopper assembly and extends generally laterally away from the drain conduit. The pivot rod includes a primary rod that is attached to the stopper assembly. A secondary rod has a first end and a second end. The secondary rod is attached to the primary rod and to the lift rod.

I claim:

         1 . A basin assembly configured for receiving and draining water, said assembly comprising:
 a sink having a bottom wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending upwardly from said bottom wall, a drain opening extending through said bottom wall, a drain conduit being fluidly coupled to said drain opening;   a stopper assembly being mounted in said drain conduit and being actuated to a closed position closing said drain opening or an open position opening said drain opening;   a grip being positioned on a basin shelf adjacent to said sink, said grip being vertically actuatable with respect to said basin shelf;   a lift rod being attached to and extending downwardly from said grip;   a pivot rod being mechanically coupled to said stopper assembly and extending generally laterally away from said drain conduit, said pivot rod including;
 a primary rod being attached to said stopper assembly, said primary rod having a distal end with respect to said stopper assembly;
 a secondary rod having a first end and a second end, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod and to said lift rod, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod at an attachment point, said first end being positioned adjacent to said distal end, said second end being positioned adjacent to said lift rod, a combined length from said stopper assembly to said attachment point and from said attachment point to said lift rod being adjustable.

         2 . The basin assembly according to claim 1 , wherein an angle formed by said primary rod and said secondary rod is adjustable.

         3 . The basin assembly according to claim 1 , wherein an angle formed by said lift rod and said secondary rod is adjustable.

         4 . The basin assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said rod includes an upper portion and a lower portion being attached together, said lower portion being movable on said upper portion to alter a height of said lift rod.

         5 . A basin assembly configured for receiving and draining water, said assembly comprising:
 a sink having a bottom wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending upwardly from said bottom wall, a drain opening extending through said bottom wall, a drain conduit being fluidly coupled to said drain opening;   a stopper assembly being mounted in said drain conduit and being actuated to a closed position closing said drain opening or an open position opening said drain opening;   a grip being positioned on a basin shelf adjacent to said sink, said grip being vertically actuatable with respect to said basin shelf;   a lift rod being attached to and extending downwardly from said grip;   a pivot rod being mechanically coupled to said stopper assembly and extending generally laterally away from said drain conduit, said pivot rod including;
 a primary rod being attached to said stopper assembly, said primary rod having a distal end with respect to said stopper assembly;
 a secondary rod having a first end and a second end, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod and to said lift rod, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod at an attachment point, said first end being positioned adjacent to said distal end, said second end being positioned adjacent to said lift rod, an angle formed by said primary rod and said secondary rod being adjustable.

         6 . The basin assembly according to claim 5 , wherein an angle formed by said lift rod and said secondary rod is adjustable.

         7 . The basin assembly according to claim 5 , wherein said rod includes an upper portion and a lower portion being attached together, said lower portion being movable on said upper portion to alter a height of said lift rod.

         8 . The basin assembly according to claim 6 , wherein said rod includes an upper portion and a lower portion being attached together, said lower portion being movable on said upper portion to alter a height of said lift rod.

         9 . A basin assembly configured for receiving and draining water, said assembly comprising:
 a sink having a bottom wall and a perimeter wall being attached to and extending upwardly from said bottom wall, a drain opening extending through said bottom wall, a drain conduit being fluidly coupled to said drain opening;   a stopper assembly being mounted in said drain conduit and being actuated to a closed position closing said drain opening or an open position opening said drain opening;   a grip being positioned on a basin shelf adjacent to said sink, said grip being vertically actuatable with respect to said basin shelf;   a lift rod being attached to and extending downwardly from said grip;   a pivot rod being mechanically coupled to said stopper assembly and extending generally laterally away from said drain conduit, said pivot rod including;
 a primary rod being attached to said stopper assembly, said primary rod having a distal end with respect to said stopper assembly;
 a secondary rod having a first end and a second end, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod and to said lift rod, said secondary rod being attached to said primary rod at an attachment point, said first end being positioned adjacent to said distal end, said second end being positioned adjacent to said lift rod, a combined length from said stopper assembly to said attachment point and from said attachment point to said lift rod being adjustable, an angle formed by said primary rod and said secondary rod being adjustable, an angle formed by said lift rod and said secondary rod being adjustable; and
   said lift rod including an upper portion and a lower portion being attached together, said lower portion being movable on said upper portion to alter a height of said lift rod.
