Abstract
The present invention relates to novel compounds of Formula (I): which act as 5HT 2C receptor modulators. These compounds are useful in pharmaceutical compositions whose use includes the treatment of obesity.

13 . A method for weight loss in an individual in need thereof, comprising administering an oral dose of (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the individual.
14 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the dose is administered in the form of a tablet.
15 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises placing the individual on a diet.
16 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises increasing the physical activity of the individual.
17 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the individual has an initial body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m 2 or greater.
18 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the individual has at least one weight-related condition selected from: hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
19 . A method for weight loss in an individual in need thereof, comprising administering an oral dose of (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the individual, wherein the (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered in conjunction with a diet and increased physical activity.
20 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein the dose is administered in the form of a tablet.
21 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein the individual has an initial body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m 2 or greater.
22 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein the individual has at least one weight-related condition selected from: hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
23 . A method for treating obesity in an individual in need thereof, comprising administering an oral dose of (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the individual.
24 . The method according to claim 23 , wherein the dose is administered in the form of a tablet.
25 . The method according to claim 23 , wherein the method further comprises placing the individual on a diet.
26 . The method according to claim 23 , wherein the method further comprises increasing the physical activity of the individual.
27 . The method according to claim 23 , wherein the individual has at least one weight-related condition selected from: hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

A method for treating obesity in an individual in need thereof, comprising administering an oral dose of (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the (R)-8-chloro-1-methyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered in conjunction with a diet and increased physical activity.
29 . The method according to claim 28 , wherein the dose is administered in the form of a tablet.
