Social network reports

Abstract

Technology is disclosed for generating social networking reports. In various embodiments, the technology receives an identity of a user wherein the identity is associated with a first online social network and does not include a password; collects first information about the user from the first online social network; generates a first report based on the collected first information; and transmits the generated first report.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method performed by a computing device having at least one processor and memory to monitor online social network information, the method comprising:
 receiving, by the at least one processor, a first request for a first report related to information associated with a first user account of a first online social network, wherein the first request includes a first identity associated with the first user account;   accessing, by the at least one processor, the first online social network via one or more first service accounts of the first online social network, wherein the one or more first service accounts correspond to one or more members of one or more first online social network groups of the first user account;   collecting, by the at least one processor, based on the access to the first online social network, a first set of information accessible to members of the one or more first online social network groups of the first user account; and   generating, by the at least one processor, the first report, based at least on the collected first set of information.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving a second request for a second report related to information associated with a second user account of a second online social network, wherein the second request includes a second identity associated with the second user account, and wherein the second identity is associated with the first identity;   accessing the second online social network via one or more second service accounts of the second online social network, wherein the one or more second service accounts correspond to one or more members of one or more second online social network groups of the second user account;   collecting, based on the access to the second online social, a second set of information accessible to members of the one or more second online social network groups of the second user account; and   generating the second report based at least on the collected second set of information.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more first service accounts are added by the first user account as the one or more members of the one or more first online social network groups of the first user account. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more first online social network groups include a first friend group, a second friend group, a first business associate group, or a second business associate group. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first set of information includes information posted to the first online social network that includes a photograph, a status update, a video, or metadata associated with a photograph. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the first request does not include a first password associated with the first user account and the second request does not include a second password associated with the second user account, and
 wherein the one or more first user service accounts enable to collect the information associated with the first user account of the first online social network without the first password, and the one or more second user service accounts enable to collect the information associated with the second user account of the second online social network without the second password.   
     
     
         7 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage device storing computer-executable instructions, the instructions comprising:
 receiving a request for a report related to information associated with a first user account of a first online social network and information associated with a second user account of a second online social network, wherein the request includes a first identity associated with the first user account and a second identity associated with the second user account, and wherein the second identity is associated with the first identity;   accessing to the first online social network via a first service account of the first online social network, and the second online social network via a second service account of the second online social network;   collecting, based on the access to the first online social network and the second online social network, a first set of information associated with the first user account, and a second set of information associated with the second user account; and   generating the report based at least on the collected first set of information and the second set of information.   
     
     
         8 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 retrieving, prior to receiving the request, a list of online social networks, wherein the list includes at least the first online social network and the second online social network.   
     
     
         9 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of  claim 7 , wherein the first service account corresponds to a member of a first online social network group of the first user account, and the second service account corresponds to a member of a second online social network group of the second user account. 
     
     
         10 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of  claim 7 , wherein the first online social network group includes a friend group or a business associate group of the first user account, and wherein the second online social network group includes a friend group or a business associate group of the second user account. 
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of  claim 7 , wherein the first set of information includes information posted on the first online social network by the first user account or other members of the first online social network, and wherein the second set of information includes information posted on the second online social network by the second user account or other members of the second online social network. 
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of  claim 7 , wherein the first set of information is at least one of a photograph, a status update, a video, or metadata associated with a photograph posted on the first online social network and the second set of information is at least one of a photograph, a status update, a video, or metadata associated with a photograph posted on the second online social network. 
     
     
         13 . A system to monitor online social network information, the system comprising:
 at least one process and memory;   a social network collection tool configured to:
 retrieve a list of online social networks including a first online social network, 
 receive a first identity associated with a first user account of the first online social network, 
 access the first online social network via one or more first service accounts of the first online social network, wherein the one or more first service accounts correspond to one or more members of one or more first online social network groups of the first user account, and 
 collect, based on the access to the first online social network, a first set of information accessible to members of the one or more first online social network groups of the first user account; and 
   a report generator configured to:
 generate a first report related to information associated with the first user account of the first online social network based at least on the collected first set of information. 
   
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 ,
 wherein the retrieved list of online social networks further includes a second online social network;   wherein the social network collection tool is further configured to:
 receive a second identity associated with a second user account of the second online social network, wherein the second identity is associated with the first identity, 
 access to the second online social network via one or more second service accounts of the second online social network, wherein the one or more second service accounts correspond to one or more members of one or more second online social network groups of the second user account, and 
 collect, based on the access to the second online social network, a second set of information accessible to members of the one or more second online social network groups of the second user account; and 
   wherein the report generator is further configured to generate the second report related to information associated with the second user account of the second online social network based at least on the collected second set of information.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the one or more first service accounts are added by the first user account as the one or more members of the one or more first online social network groups of the first user account. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the one or more second service accounts are added by the second user account as the one or more members of the one or more second online social network groups of the second user account. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the first one or more online social network groups include a first friend group, a second friend group, a first business associate group, or a second business. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the first set of information includes information posted to the first online social network. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 18 , wherein the information posted to the first online social network includes a photograph, a status update, a video, or metadata associated with a photograph. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the report generator is configured to generate the first report in a form to be sent via email to a user or displayed at a web page.
