Abstract

According to the invention, an image and an object indicating a candidate area, to be processed, in the image are displayed on a display screen. Whether a position designated by a user in the display screen on which the displaying is executed, is outside the object is determined. In a case where it is determined that the position is outside the object, an object moves to an area, in the display screen, corresponding to the position designated by a user. The area to which the object area is moved is decided as a candidate to be processed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An apparatus comprising:
a memory configured to store a program; a processor configured to execute the program stored in the memory; and a touch panel, wherein the processor causes the touch panel to display an image and a first display item for designating trimming of the image, wherein the processor causes the touch panel to display a trimming frame indicating an area to be trimmed, on the image, and to display a second display item for changing a relative orientation between the image and the trimming frame, if a touch operation is performed to the first display item by a user on the touch panel in a state that the trimming frame and the second display item are not displayed in the touch panel, wherein the processor changes the relative orientation between the image and the trimming frame, if the touch operation is performed to the second display item by the user on the touch panel, and wherein in the touch operation, the user touches the first display item or the second display item.

2 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a user touches the first display item on the touch panel, the processor changes brightness of the image in the touch panel.

3 . The apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the processor changes brightness of an area outside the trimming frame in the image.

4 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if the touch operation is performed to the first display item on the touch panel, the processor causes the touch panel to display the trimming frame, the second display item, and a third display item, concurrently, and
wherein if the touch operation is performed to the third display item, the processor causes the touch panel to display an area indicated by the trimming frame in the image.

5 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processor causes the touch panel to display the second display item in a display area, in the touch panel, outside the image.

6 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a printing unit configured to print the image,
wherein an area indicated by the trimming frame in the image, is printed by the printing unit.

         7 . A method comprising:
causing a touch panel to display an image and a first display item for designating trimming of the image; causing the touch panel to display a trimming frame indicating an area to be trimmed, on the image, and to display a second display item for changing a relative orientation between the image and the trimming frame, if a touch operation is performed to the first display item by a user in the touch panel in a state that the trimming frame and the second display item are not displayed in the touch panel; and changing the relative orientation between the image and the trimming frame, if the touch operation is performed to the second display item by the user on the touch panel, wherein in the touch operation, the user touches the first display item or the second display item in the touch panel.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein if the touch operation is performed to the first display item on the touch panel, brightness of the image is changed in the touch panel.

9 . The method according to claim 8 , wherein brightness of an area outside the trimming frame in the image is changed in the touch panel.

10 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein if the touch operation is performed to the first display item on the touch panel, the touch panel is caused to display the trimming frame, the second display item, and a third display item, concurrently, and
wherein if the touch operation is performed to the third display item, the touch panel is caused to display an area indicated by the trimming frame in the image.

11 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the touch panel is caused to display the second display item in a display area, in the touch panel, outside the image.

12 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the touch panel is caused to display the second display item in a display area, in the touch panel, outside the image.

13 . The method according to claim 7 , further comprising, causing a printing unit to print an image indicated by the trimming frame in the image.
