Modified Blackjack With Associated Wagering Game

Abstract

A Blackjack game is modified to allow players to bet on an associated wagering game comprising an additional hand. The additional hand is formed according to standard Blackjack rules for forming a dealer hand. Players may wager on their own hand and/or the associated wagering game. According to another embodiment, players may wager on tie conditions between different hands including the player's hand, the dealer's hand and the additional hand from the associated wagering game. According to a further embodiment, different payout schemes may be provided based on the number of cards in hands where a tie condition exists.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of playing a card game comprising a dealer, at least one player and the steps of:
 (a) providing at least one physical deck of cards comprising a plurality of different values at a gaming table;   (b) receiving a wager from every player with respect to a standard Blackjack game;   (c) receiving an additional wager from at least one player with respect to an associated wagering game;   (d) distributing cards to the dealer position and each player position from which a wager relating to the standard Blackjack game is received to form initial Blackjack hands for the dealer and each player;   (e) distributing cards to a designated associated wagering game area to form an initial associated wagering game hand responsive to receiving a wager relating to the associated wagering game;   (f) forming a final player hand according to standard Blackjack rules;   (g) forming a final associated wagering player hand according to standard Blackjack rules for forming the dealer hand;   (h) forming a final dealer hand according to standard Blackjack rules for forming the dealer hand;   (i) comparing the final player hand with the dealer hand to determine the outcome of the wager relating to the standard Blackjack game;   (j) comparing the final associated wagering game hand with the dealer hand to determine the outcome of the wager relating to the associated wagering game, wherein the comparison is based on standard Blackjack rules;   (k) paying the wager relating to the standard Blackjack game according to a first payout scheme; and   (l) paying the wager relating to the associated wagering game according to a second payout scheme.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein if both the final dealer hand and the final associated wager player hand have numerical values greater than twenty-one then a wager with respect to the associated wagering game is returned. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  wherein the at least one deck of cards comprises one standard fifty-two card deck. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the first payout scheme pays an equal amount to the amount wagered for a winning hand and pays an amount fifty percent greater than the wagered amount on a Blackjack hand. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4  wherein the second payout scheme matches the first payout scheme and further comprises a commission. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5  comprising the additional steps of:
 (a) receiving a second additional wager relating to a match condition between at least two hands from a set of hands, the set of hands comprising all the players hands, the dealer hand and the associated wagering game hand; 
 (b) comparing all the final hands in the set of hands to determine if a winner exists based on the match condition; and 
 (c) paying the wager relating to the second additional wager according to a third payout scheme. 
 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the set of hands consists of the hand of the player making the second additional wager and the dealer's hand. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7  wherein the player making the second additional wager also splits his hand during play and wherein the set of hands consists of the first hand of the split hands of the player making the second additional wager and the dealer's hand. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the set of hands consists of the associated wager game hand and the dealer's hand. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the third payout scheme pays a first amount if the at least two hands that match in value further comprise no more than two cards for each hand and pays a second amount if at least one of the at least two hands that match in value comprises more than two cards. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 7  wherein the third payout scheme pays a first amount if the at least two hands that match in value further comprise no more than two cards for each hand and pays a second amount if at least one of the at least two hands that match in value comprises more than two cards. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 8  wherein the third payout scheme pays a first amount if the at least two hands that match in value further comprise no more than two cards for each hand and pays a second amount if at least one of the at least two hands that match in value comprises more than two cards. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 9  wherein the third payout scheme pays a first amount if the at least two hands that match in value further comprise no more than two cards for each hand and pays a second amount if at least one of the at least two hands that match in value comprises more than two cards. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10  wherein the first amount is twelve times the wager amount and wherein the second amount is five times the wager amount. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 11  wherein the first amount is twelve times the wager amount and wherein the second amount is five times the wager amount. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 12  wherein the first amount is twelve times the wager amount and wherein the second amount is five times the wager amount. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 13  wherein the first amount is twelve times the wager amount and wherein the second amount is five times the wager amount. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the third payout scheme pays a higher amount based on the number of hands within the set of hands that match in value.
