Abstract

Disclosed are methods and systems of providing access, indexing, and/or connecting a user to a network-based service, associated with a particular entity, using an identifier that can be uniquely associated with the particular entity (e.g., with respect to a given scope of identification), can be proprietary to the entity, and/or issued by a third-party (i.e., a party not providing the method or system). A method can comprising receiving from a client computer system an entity identifier uniquely associated with a real world entity in a scope of identification, the entity identifier being issued by a third-party in association with the real world entity. The method can select a network-based service uniquely associated with the entity identifier, determine a public access parameter to the network-based service, and provide the client computer system with public access to the network-based service according to the public access parameter.

         2 . A method performed by a server computer system, comprising:
 receiving from a client computer system an entity identifier unique to a real world entity, the entity identifier issued by a party other than a party administering the server computer system;   receiving from the client computer system a network-based service identifier designated from among a plurality of network-based service identifiers thereby providing a designated network-based service identifier;   identifying a network-based service based on the entity identifier and the designated network-based service identifier thereby providing an identified network-based service, the identified network-based service being identified from among a plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services unique to the real world entity; and   facilitating a one-step connection by the client computer system to the identified network-based service, wherein a one-step connection provides direct access to a network-based service of a plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services without requiring any intervening step of connecting to any other network-based service of the hierarchically arranged network-based services.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein prior to receiving the designated network-based service identifier, the method further comprising:
 providing to the client computer system at least an indication of the plurality of network-based service identifiers unique to the real world entity; and   causing the client computer system to enable at least some of a plurality of available access connection controls associated with the plurality of network-based service identifiers thereby providing a plurality of enabled access connection controls.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the designated network-based service identifier is indicative of a selection of an associated access connection control of the plurality of enabled access connection controls. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the server computer system does not cause the client computer system to enable at least some of a plurality of available access connection controls thereby providing a plurality of disabled access connection controls. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the designated network-based service identifier is received as a suffix or prefix of the entity identifier. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein prior to receiving the designated network-based service identifier, the method further comprising:
 indexing the plurality of network-based service identifiers to establish an index that facilitates a plurality of one-step connections to each network-based service of the plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein facilitating the one-step connection comprises:
 determining an access parameter of the identified network-based service; and   providing the client computer system with access to the identified network-based service in accordance with the access parameter.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein facilitating the one-step connection comprises:
 performing an approval process for providing private access to the identified network-based service; and   upon approval, providing the client computer system with private access to the designated network based service.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein performing the approval process comprises:
 generating a passcode for the identified network-based service;   providing the passcode to the real world entity over a communication system operable with the entity identifier; and   causing the client computer system to prompt for the passcode.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the plurality of network-based service identifiers corresponds to a plurality of webpage identifiers and the plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services corresponds to a plurality of hierarchically arranged webpages included in a website unique to the real world entity. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein prior to receiving a designated webpage identifier, the method further comprising:
 indexing the plurality of webpage identifiers to establish an index that facilitates a plurality of one-step connections to each webpage in the website.   
     
     
         13 . A server computer system comprising:
 at least one processor; and   a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the server computer system to:
 receive from a client computer system an entity identifier unique to a real world entity, the entity identifier issued by a party other than a party administering the server computer system; 
 receive from the client computer system a network-based service identifier designated from among a plurality of network-based service identifiers thereby providing a designated network-based service identifier; 
 identify a network-based service based on the entity identifier and the designated network-based service identifier thereby providing an identified network-based service, the identified network-based service being identified from among a plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services unique to the real world entity; and 
 facilitate a one-step connection by the client computer system to the identified network-based service, wherein a one-step connection provides direct access to a network-based service of a plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services without requiring any intervening step of connecting to any other network-based service of the hierarchically arranged network-based services. 
   
     
     
         14 . The server computer system of  claim 13 , wherein prior to being caused to receive the designated network-based service identifier, the server computer system is further caused to:
 provide to the client computer system at least an indication of the plurality of network-based service identifiers unique to the real world entity; and   cause the client computer system to enable at least some of a plurality of available access connection controls associated with the plurality of network-based service identifiers thereby providing a plurality of enabled access connection controls.   
     
     
         15 . The server computer system of  claim 14 , wherein the designated network-based service identifier is indicative of a selection of an associated access connection control of the plurality of enabled access connection controls. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein the server computer system does not cause the client computer system to enable at least some of a plurality of available access connection controls thereby providing a plurality of disabled access connection controls. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the designated network-based service identifier is received as a suffix or prefix of the entity identifier. 
     
     
         18 . The server computer system of  claim 13 , wherein the plurality of network-based service identifiers corresponds to a plurality of webpage identifiers and the plurality of hierarchically arranged network-based services corresponds to a plurality of hierarchically arranged webpages included in a website unique to the real world entity. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein prior to being caused to receive the designated network-based service identifier, the server computer system is further caused to:
 index the plurality of webpage identifiers to establish an index that facilitates a plurality of one-step connections to each webpage in the website.   
     
     
         20 . A method performed by a client computer system, comprising:
 receiving a telephone number for a real world entity;   enabling a plurality of selectable controls, each selectable control associated with a respective webpage of a plurality of hierarchically arranged webpages of a website uniquely associated with the real world entity;   receiving a selection of one of the plurality of selectable controls thereby providing an indication of a selected webpage of the website;   providing to a server computer system the telephone number and the indication of the selected webpage of the website; and   connecting to the selected webpage via a one-step connection facilitated by the server computer system, wherein a one-step connection provides direct access to any webpage from among a plurality of hierarchically arranged webpages without requiring an intervening step of connecting to any other webpage.   
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the plurality of selectable controls comprises at least some enabled selectable controls and at least some disabled selectable controls.
