Abstract

The invention relates to a device for stiffening and sealing a solar collector, providing protection against breakage and secure sealing of the connection area between an extruded flat plate solar absorber and fluid-inlet and -outlet collectors. The device comprises: a support profile for stiffening the extruded flat plate absorber and the fluid-inlet and -outlet collector, formed by open cylindrical modules together with two parallel plates; and a tray, made of plastic reinforced using fibreglass fabric, for sealing the connection between the extruded flat plate solar absorber and the fluid-inlet and -outlet collectors in such a way as to maintain said elements as a common or single-piece element.

1 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector allowing to protecting a crack and safely sealing the connection area of an extruded flat solar absorber and collectors of fluid inlet-outlet, WHEREIN it comprises:
 A supporting profile for the stiffness of the extruded flat absorber and the collector of fluid inlet-outlet formed by open cylindrical modules with two parallel plates;   A plastic tray reinforced with glass fiber for the sealing of the connection of the extruded solar flat absorber and the collectors of fluid inlet-outlet, so that it keeps said elements as a common element or monoblock.   
     
     
         2 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector according to claim N°  1 , WHEREIN the inside diameter of the profile's cylindrical modules for the stiffness is the same as the external diameter of the collectors of fluid inlet-outlet. 
     
     
         3 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector according to  claim 1 , WHEREIN the extruded flat solar absorber is made of polycarbonate and it has wall thickness of 300 to 800 mm. 
     
     
         4 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector according to  claim 1 , WHEREIN the extruded flat solar absorber has the same thickness as the flat panel, 8 to 15 mm, a length of 1.75 to 3.0 m and a width of 50 to 100 cm. 
     
     
         5 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector according to  claim 1 , WHEREIN the plastic tray reinforced with fiberglass has wall thickness of 2 to 6 mm. 
     
     
         6 . A device to stiffen and seal a solar collector according to claim N°  1 , WHEREIN the extruded collector of inlet-outlet fluid is made of polycarbonate or PVC and it has tube thickness of 2 to 3 mm.
