Abstract
Embodiments provide flanged roof apparatus, a system including flanged roof apparatus, and a method using flanged roof apparatus.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A kit for adhering flanges to a roof comprising:
a mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface; a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer; and a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.
2 . The kit of claim 1 further comprising at least one dotted line marked on at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer.
3 . The kit of claim 1 further comprising at least one perforated line extending a length of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, bottom removable sealant layer, and top removable sealant layer, the perforated line comprising at least two perforations, the at least two perforations extending the distance of the width of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, bottom removable sealant layer, and top removable sealant layer.
4 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein at least two of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer comprise a wax layer.
5 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise at least one indicator.
6 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise at least one inscription.
8 . The kit of claim 1 , wherein the kit further comprises a flange having a top and bottom surface, the top surface adjacent the bottom surface of the top removable sealant layer, the bottom surface adjacent the top surface of the bottom removable sealant layer.
7 . A system comprising:
a flange comprising a top surface and a bottom surface; a bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the bottom surface of the flange, a top mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the top surface of the flange, a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer; and a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer, the bottom removable sealant layer removable to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein at least two of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer comprise a wax layer.
9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise an indicator.
10 . The system of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise at least one inscription.
11 . The system of claim 7 , wherein at least two of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer comprise permanent adhesive properties.
12 . An apparatus comprising:
a flange comprising a flange top surface and a flange bottom surface, the flange bottom surface disposed in opposition to the flange top surface in spaced relationship therewith; an aperture defined through the flange from the flange top surface to the flange bottom surface; a bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the bottom surface of the flange, a top mastic asphalt concrete layer comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top mastic asphalt concrete layer adhered to the top surface of the flange, a bottom removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer adhered to the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the bottom surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer; and a top removable sealant layer comprising a top and bottom surface, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer adhered to the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete substrate, the at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer larger in surface area than the top surface of the mastic asphalt concrete layer.
15 . The apparatus of claim 12 and further comprising:
wherein at least two of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer comprise a wax layer.
16 . The apparatus of claim 12 and further comprising:
wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise an indicator.
17 . The apparatus of claim 12 and further comprising:
wherein at least one of the bottom removable sealant layer and top removable sealant layer comprise at least one inscription.
18 . The apparatus of claim 12 and further comprising:
wherein at least two of the top and bottom surfaces of the bottom removable sealant layer and the top and bottom surfaces of the top removable sealant layer.
