Abstract

A system including one or more servers, each server communicably coupled to a first user device and a second user device, the one or more servers being configured to receive, from the first user device, information regarding a project of an artist, create project data based on the received information regarding the project, the project data comprising a name and at least one of a type, a language, a description, a start date, an estimated completion date, a prospective release date and/or a revenue goal, store the project data in a database of the one or more servers, and transmitting or providing, via a network or website, information associated with the stored project data to the second user device.

1 . (canceled)

         2 . A system for controlling the distribution of new music, comprising:
 one or more servers including a memory and a first processor programmed to:
 receive, from a first user device, project information including a project title and a project goal for a project that creates a new audio or video recording, and artist information including a contributing artist for the project;
 store the received project information in association with the received artist information in a database of the one or more servers;
 transmit, to a second user device, the stored artist information and the stored project information, with other stored project information and other associated artist information;
 receive, from the second user device, a selection of a project from among the project information;
 transmit an indication of the selection of the project to the first user device, which is associated with the contributing artist;
 receive, from the first user device, an uploaded file of the new audio or video recording; and
 if authorized, allow downloading or streaming of the new audio or video recording by the second user device; and
   the first user device including a second processor programmed to:
 receive user inputs indicating the project title and the project goal as the project information and the contributing artist for the project as the project information;
 transmit the project information and the artist information to the one or more servers;
 receive, from the one or more servers, an indication of the selection of the project that creates the new audio or video recording;
 store a file to be uploaded comprising the new audio or video recording or record and store sound or video data of the new audio or video recording in the file to be uploaded; and
 upload, to the one or more servers, the file to be uploaded in association with the project information; and
   the second user device including a third processor programmed to:
 receive the artist information and the project information from the one or more servers;
 display the artist information and associated project information;
 receive a user input indicating selection of the project information;
 transmit, to the one or more servers, the selection of the project information based on the received user input; and
 after authorization, receive, from the one or more servers via download or streaming, the file including the new audio or video recording created by the project of the project information.

         3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the file including the new audio or video recording is one of: a MP3 file, a WindowsMedia file, a WAV file, an AIR file, an AVI file, a MPEG file, and a Flash file.

         4 . A system for controlling the distribution of new music, comprising:
 one or more servers including a memory and a first processor programmed to:
 receive, from a first user device, project information including a project title and a project goal for a project that creates a new audio or video recording, and artist information including a contributing artist for the project;
 store the received project information in association with the received artist information in a database of the one or more servers;
 transmit, to a second user device, the stored artist information and the stored project information, with other stored project information and other associated artist information;
 receive, from the second user device, a selection of a project from among the project information;
 transmit an indication of the selection of the project to the first user device, which is associated with the contributing artist;
 receive, from the first user device, an uploaded file of the new audio or video recording;
 if authorized, allow downloading or streaming of the new audio or video recording by the second user device; and
 transmit to the second user device, via downloading or streaming, the new audio or video recording.

         5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first processor is further configured to: prior to the download or stream of the new audio or video recording to the second user device, confirm a monetary payment from the second user device and/or a subscription registration for a user of the second user device.

         6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first processor is further configured to: determine that the second user device is authorized to download or stream the new aduio or video recording when a monetary payment has been confirmed from the second user device and/or a subscription registration for a user of the second user device has been confirmed.

         7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the third processor of the second user device is further configured to:
 receive, from the one or more servers, additional project information associated with a different project creating a different new audio or video recording and different associated artist information including another contributing artist that is different than the contributing artist; display the project information and the additional project information; receive user input indicating selection of the additional project information; transmit, to the one or more servers, the selection of the additional project information based on the received user input; and if authorized, receive, from the one or more servers via download or streaming, the file including the different new audio or video recording created by the additional project of the additional project information.
