Abstract

A system and method to apply a first user interface (UI) layout associated with a first system to a second UI associated with a second system is provided. A user overlay interface application learns the components, layout format, and/or functionality of the first UI, and applies the learned components, format, and/or functionality to the second UI presented by the second system. In this way, the user may select the UI format desired for multiple systems and thus improve the user experience when using multiple systems.

Claims

1 . (canceled)

         2 . A computer implemented method comprising:
receiving by a computer processor, from a client machine, via a wireless communication channel, a first user interface in a first layout format, the first user interface comprising a first plurality of components; determining layout characteristics of the first plurality of components; receiving a second user interface in a second layout format, the second user interface comprising a second plurality of components; applying the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components to convert at least part of the second layout format to at least part of the first layout format; and presenting the second user interface in at least part of the first layout format to a user via a client machine.

3 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the first user interface is from a first website and the second user interface is from a second website.

4 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the first layout format is designed by the user.

5 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the first layout characteristics comprise one or more of size, appearance, dimensions, or location on the first user interface.

6 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the first layout format comprises definition and functionality of the first user interface.

7 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the first layout format comprises one of a single page or a plurality of pages.

8 . The computer implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the applying the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components does not substantially change the function of the second plurality of components.

9 . One or more computer-readable hardware storage device having embedded therein a set of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of a computer, causes the computer to execute operations comprising:
receiving a first user interface in a first layout format, the first user interface comprising a first plurality of components; determining layout characteristics of the first plurality of components; receiving a second user interface in a second layout format, the second user interface comprising a second plurality of components; applying the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components to convert at least part of the second layout format to at least part of the first layout format; and presenting the second user interface in at least part of the first layout format to a user via a client machine.

10 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the first user interface is from a first website and the second user interface is from a second website.

11 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the first layout format is designed by the user.

12 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the first layout characteristics comprise one or more of size, appearance, dimensions, or location on the first user interface.

13 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the first layout format comprises definition and functionality of the first user interface.

14 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the first layout format comprises one of a single page or a plurality of pages.

15 . The one or more computer-readable hardware storage device of claim 9 , wherein the applying the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components does not substantially change the function of the second plurality of components.

16 . A system comprising one or more hardware processors configured to:
receive a first user interface in a first layout format, the first user interface comprising a first plurality of components; determine layout characteristics of the first plurality of components:
 receive a second user interface in a second layout format, the second user interface comprising a second plurality of components;
apply the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components to convert at least part of the second layout format to at least part of the first layout format; and present the second user interface in at least part of the first layout format to a user via a client machine.

17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the first user interface is from a first website and the second user interface is from a second website.

18 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the first layout format is designed by the user.

19 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the first layout characteristics comprise one or more of size, appearance, dimensions, or location on the first user interface.

20 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the first layout format comprises definition and functionality of the first user interface.

21 . The system of claim 16 , wherein applying the layout characteristics determined from the first plurality of components to the second plurality of components does not substantially change the function of the second plurality of components.
