State change alerts mechanism

Abstract

A communications system including one or more alert gates and an alert controller. Each alert gate is configured to detect a different type of alert feed corresponding to a particular kind of alert. The alert controller is connected to the alert gates and operable to receive detected alerts from the alert gates and to deliver the detected alerts to a user of the communications system.

         41 . A method comprising:
 enabling presentation of a graphical user interface operable to facilitate creation of one or more alert subscriptions;   receiving, by way of the graphical user interface, an indication of one or more alert preferences to be associated with a particular type of alert; and   creating, using one or more processors, an alert subscription in accordance with the one or more alert preferences.   
     
     
         42 . A method comprising:
 presenting, to a user, a first graphical user interface configured to facilitate management of a plurality of alerts, wherein the first graphical user interface comprises a listing of the plurality of alerts;   presenting, in response to a selection of a particular alert from the listing of the plurality of alerts, a second graphical user interface configured to facilitate management of one or more alert preferences associated with the particular alert;   receiving, by way of the second graphical user interface, an indication of one or more alert preferences to be associated with the particular alert; and   modifying, using one or more processors, a record associated with the particular alert in accordance with the one or more alert preferences.
