Composition for treating or preventing glaucoma comprising a sulfonamide compound and another drug

Abstract

A composition for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension including a combination of isopropyl (6-{[4-(pyrazol-1-yl)benzyl](pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)aminomethyl} pyridin-2-ylamino) acetate and at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension, with the proviso that tafluprost is excluded.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A composition for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension comprising a combination of isopropyl (6-{[4-(pyrazol-1-yl)benzyl](pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)aminomethyl}pyridin-2-ylamino) acetate and at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension, with the proviso that tafluprost is excluded. 
     
     
         2 . A composition for lowering intraocular pressure comprising a combination of isopropyl (6-{[4-(pyrazol-1-yl)benzyl](pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)aminomethyl} pyridin-2-ylamino)acetate and at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension, with the proviso that tafluprost is excluded. 
     
     
         3 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is selected from the group consisting of a nonselective sympathomimetic drug, an α 2 -receptor agonist, an α 1 -receptor antagonist, a β-receptor antagonist, a parasympathomimetic drug, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, a prostaglandin and a Rho-kinase inhibitor. 
     
     
         4 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the nonselective sympathomimetic drug, which is dipivefrin. 
     
     
         5 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the α 2 -receptor antagonist, which is brimonidine or apraclonidine. 
     
     
         6 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the α 1 -receptor antagonist, which is bunazosin. 
     
     
         7 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the β-receptor antagonist, which is befunolol, carteolol, nipradilol, betaxolol, levobunolol or metipranolol. 
     
     
         8 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the parasympathomimetic drug, which is pilocarpine. 
     
     
         9 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, which is dorzolamide, brinzolamide or acetazolamide. 
     
     
         10 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the prostaglandin, which is isopropyl unoprostone, latanoprost, travoprost or bimatoprost. 
     
     
         11 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the Rho-kinase inhibitor, which is (R)-trans-N-(pyridin-4-yl)-4-(1-aminoethyl) cyclohexanecarboxamide, (R)-(+)-N-(1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl)-4-(1-aminoethyl) benzamide, 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine or 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)-2-methylpiperazine. 
     
     
         12 . The composition according to  claim 2 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is selected from the group consisting of a nonselective sympathomimetic drug, an α 2 -receptor agonist, an α 1 -receptor antagonist, a β-receptor antagonist, a parasympathomimetic drug, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, a prostaglandin and a Rho-kinase inhibitor. 
     
     
         13 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the nonselective sympathomimetic drug, which is dipivefrin. 
     
     
         14 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the α 2 -receptor antagonist, which is brimonidine or apraclonidine. 
     
     
         15 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the α 1 -receptor antagonist, which is bunazosin. 
     
     
         16 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the β-receptor antagonist, which is befunolol, carteolol, nipradilol, betaxolol, levobunolol or metipranolol. 
     
     
         17 . The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the parasympathomimetic drug, which is pilocarpine.

The composition according to  claim 12 , wherein the at least one other drug for preventing or treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension is the Rho-kinase inhibitor, which is (R)-trans-N-(pyridin-4-yl)-4-(1-aminoethyl) cyclohexanecarboxamide, (R)-(+)-N-(1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl)-4-(1-aminoethyl) benzamide, 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)homopiperazine or 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyl)-2-methylpiperazine.
