Composition for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases or disorders, method and use comprising electromagnetically irradiated yeast

Abstract

Provided is a composition which comprises yeast cells treated with, or grown from yeast cells treated with electromagnetic waves in the range of 30 GHz to 300 GHz. Said composition may be used for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases or disorders. A method relating to the composition is also provided.

1 . A method of treatment of a neurodegenerative disease or disorder, comprising administering yeast cells treated with or grown from yeast cells treated with electromagnetic waves in the range of 42.0 GHz to 300.0 GHz, for the treatment of a neurodegenerative disease or disorder. 
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said electromagnetic waves are in the range from 42.0 GHz to about 65.0 GHz. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 2 , wherein said electromagnetic waves are chosen from 42.0 GHz, 42.2 GHz, 43.0 GHz, 44.0 GHz, 45.0 GHz, 46.0 GHz, 47.0 GHz, 48.0 GHz, 49.0 GHz, 50.0 GHz, 51.0 GHz, 52.0 GHz, 53.0 GHz, 54.0 GHz, and 55.0 GHz. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said electromagnetic waves have a power density below 1 mW/cm 2 . 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 4 , wherein said electromagnetic waves have a power density between 0.004 mW/cm 2  and 0.2 mW/cm 2 . 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said electromagnetic waves are modulated in a frequency within the range of 0% to about 0.5% of the average frequency. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the treatment time is between 20 minutes and 130 minutes. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said yeast cells are  Sacharomyces.    
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein said yeast cells are selected from  Sacharomyces carlsbergesis  and  Sacharomyces cerevisiae.    
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said neurodegenerative disease or disorder is Alzheimer's disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). 
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said treatment is oral treatment.
