Sharing User Information With Proximate Devices
Abstract
Embodiments of techniques and systems for sharing user information between proximate devices are described. In embodiments, a first device may identify a physically-proximate device that may receive user information. Upon receiving an indication that a user of the first device may desire to share user information with a user of the second device, a determination may be made as to whether the two users have matching interests. In embodiments, the interest match determination may be made by a separate interest match evaluator. Upon determination of an interest match, the first device may then send a request to share user information to the second device. If a user of the second device approves the request, user information for the user of the first device may be shared with the user of the second device. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

50 . A mobile telephone device that, when the mobile telephone device is in operation, is capable of communicating, at least in part via at least one wireless network, with a server and at least one other mobile telephone device, the mobile telephone device comprising:
flash memory capable of storing, at least in part, instructions; a system on chip comprising at least one processor that is capable, when the mobile telephone device is in the operation, of executing, at least in part, the instructions; at least one antenna; at least one wireless communication interface that is capable of being used by the mobile telephone device, when the mobile telephone device is in the operation, to wirelessly communicate, using the at least one antenna, via the at least one network, with the server and the at least one other mobile telephone device; the instructions, when executed, at least in part, by the at least one processor resulting in the mobile telephone device being capable of performing operations comprising:
receiving user input indicating, at least in part, user interest in sharing, at least in part, with the at least one other mobile telephone device, information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the user input being capable of being associated, at least in part, with at least one request to be provided to the at least one other mobile telephone device, the at least one request being associated, at least in part, with obtaining approval, at least in part, for information sharing with the at least one mobile device;
receiving at least one user selection of a subset of the information that is desired to be shared with the at least one other mobile telephone device for display, at least in part, at the at least one other mobile telephone device, the information being capable of comprising location information and user information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the location information being capable of being based, at least in part, upon global positioning system (GPS)-related, Bluetooth-related, and/or cellular-related data.
51 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the mobile telephone device comprises a smartphone device.
52 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the at least one wireless communication interface comprises:
a wireless telephone modem; and
a wireless modem.
53 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the information sharing is to be carried out, at least in part, using the server.
54 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the server comprises a cloud-based entity capable of communicating with the mobile telephone device and the at least one other mobile telephone device via the Internet.
55 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the at least one request is capable of being based, at least in part, upon user contact data that is capable of being stored, at least in part, at the mobile telephone device.
56 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the location information and the user information are capable of being stored, at least in part, at the server; and the location information and the user information are to be shared, at least in part, via the server.
57 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the at least one request is capable of being based, at least in part, upon user contact data stored, at least in part, at the server.
58 . The mobile telephone device of claim 50 , wherein:
the user information comprises username information, identifying information, friend information, colleague information, school mate information, acquaintance information, and/or contact information.

At least one computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that are capable of being executed, at least in part, by at least one processor comprised in a system on chip that is to be comprised in a mobile telephone device, the mobile telephone device, when the mobile telephone device is in operation, being capable of communicating, at least in part, via at least one wireless network, with a server and at least one other mobile telephone device, the instructions when executed, at least in part, by the at least one processor resulting in the mobile telephone device being capable of performing operations comprising:
using, by the mobile telephone device, at least one wireless communication interface of the mobile telephone device to wirelessly communicate, using at least one antenna of the mobile telephone device, with the server and the at least one other mobile telephone device via the at least one network; receiving user input indicating, at least in part, user interest in sharing, at least in part, with the at least one other mobile telephone device, information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the user input being capable of being associated, at least in part, with at least one request to be provided to the at least one other mobile telephone device, the at least one request being associated, at least in part, with obtaining approval, at least in part, for information sharing with the at least one mobile device; receiving at least one user selection of a subset of the information that is desired to be shared with the at least one other mobile telephone device for display, at least in part, at the at least one other mobile telephone device, the information being capable of comprising location information and user information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the location information being capable of being based, at least in part, upon global positioning system (GPS)-related, Bluetooth-related, and/or cellular-related data.
60 . The at least one computer-readable storage medium of claim 59 , wherein:
the mobile telephone device comprises a smartphone device.

the at least one wireless communication interface comprises:
a wireless telephone modem; and

using, by the mobile telephone device, at least one wireless communication interface of the mobile telephone device to wirelessly communicate, using at least one antenna of the mobile telephone device, with the server and the at least one other mobile telephone device via the at least one network; executing, at least in part, by at least one processor, instructions stored, at least in part, in flash memory, the at least one processor being comprised in a system on chip comprised in the mobile telephone device, the flash memory being comprised in the mobile telephone device, the instructions, when executed, at least in part, by the at least one processor resulting in the mobile telephone device being capable of performing operations comprising:
receiving user input indicating, at least in part, user interest in sharing, at least in part, with the at least one other mobile telephone device, information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the user input being capable of being associated, at least in part, with at least one request to be provided to the at least one other mobile telephone device, the at least one request being associated, at least in part, with obtaining approval, at least in part, for information sharing with the at least one mobile device;
receiving at least one user selection of a subset of the information that is desired to be shared with the at least one other mobile telephone device for display, at least in part, at the at least one other mobile telephone device, the information being capable of comprising location information and user information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the location information being capable of being based, at least in part, upon global positioning system (GPS)-related, Bluetooth-related, and/or cellular-related data.

the mobile telephone device comprises a smartphone device.

memory means for storing, at least in part, instructions; a system on chip comprising processor means for executing, at least in part, when the mobile telephone device is in the operation, the instructions; at least one wireless communication interface means that is capable of being used by the mobile telephone device, when the mobile telephone device is in the operation, to wirelessly communicate, using at least one antenna of the mobile telephone device, via the at least one network, with the server and the at least one other mobile telephone device; the instructions, when executed, at least in part, by the processor means resulting in the mobile telephone device being capable of performing operations comprising:
receiving user input indicating, at least in part, user interest in sharing, at least in part, with the at least one other mobile telephone device, information associated, at least in part, with the mobile telephone device, the user input being capable of being associated, at least in part, with at least one request to be provided to the at least one other mobile telephone device, the at least one request being associated, at least in part, with obtaining approval, at least in part, for information sharing with the at least one mobile device;
